Hi,
This is Amber and today's meditation is for those days when you're feeling overwhelmed and like you have a little too much going on in your head.
Alright,
Make sure you have a pen and a paper nearby and find yourself in a comfortable seat.
You can keep your eyes open or closed,
Whichever feels right to you.
Let's start with a few nice deep breaths.
Inhale for 1,
2,
3,
4.
Hold.
Exhale for 1,
2,
3,
4,
5.
Once more.
Inhale for 1,
2,
3,
4.
Hold at the top.
Exhale for 1,
2,
3,
4,
5.
And again.
Inhale 1,
2,
3,
4.
Hold.
Exhale 1,
2,
3,
4,
5.
I learned the technique that we're going to be using today from Mo Gaudet on the How to Fail podcast,
Which I'll leave a link to below.
In the podcast,
Mo talks about treating your meditation session like it's a meeting with your brain,
Where you listen non-judgmentally to what your brain has to say to you.
So sometimes your brain is going to remind you about something that you have to do,
Like something you have to get from the grocery store.
So just have a pen and paper handy to write those things down and get them out of your mind.
Sometimes your brain might bring you anxious or challenging thoughts,
And in this exercise,
There's no need to engage those thoughts in discussion and try and figure out if they're right or wrong,
If they're bad or good.
When that happens,
You can just say to your brain,
You know,
Thanks for bringing that to my attention.
What else are you thinking about today?
Just remember,
We're not judging ourselves for having any of these thoughts.
We're just observing right now.
We're not judging ourselves for having any of these thoughts.
If you're finding yourself getting distracted,
Just bring your attention back to the breath.
If you're finding yourself getting distracted,
Just bring your attention back to the breath.
You you you you you you you you and slowly now start coming back to your body and kind of notice how you feel hopefully your mind feels a little bit clearer now and a little bit less hectic and thank you for meditating with me today and I'll see you next time
