This is a short meditation to help you wind down and get relaxed before bed. I'll guide you through a visualization where you'll observe your thoughts as your brain unpacks your day. You may choose to do this meditation in bed so you can fall asleep afterwards. Please note: this track includes visualization of floating and gently submerging into a lake as you fall asleep. Feel free to skip this one if that image doesn't bring you peace.

Hi,

My name is Amber and this meditation is for helping you wind down and get relaxed before bed so that you can rest well and feel energized when you wake up.

You may choose to do this meditation right before bed so you can fall asleep afterwards.

I recommend having a notebook and a pen by your side in case you'd like to write anything down that you want to remember.

This will help to get thoughts out of your head and I find that using a notebook also prevents me from picking up my phone and getting distracted.

Alright,

If you're ready to get started now,

Find yourself a comfortable position lying down in your bed on your back with your arms at your sides.

Close your eyes whenever you're ready and just take a few moments here to get settled in.

I invite you now to imagine that you are floating effortlessly on your back in the middle of a large magic lake.

The water is warm and calm and the waves are so gentle that you can barely feel them.

As you float on your back you can feel the water supporting you completely so you can totally relax.

Imagine the wide sky above you filled with the brightest stars you've ever seen.

You noticed that the air seems cleaner here so you take a few deep breaths inhaling deeply filling your lungs with the sweet clean air.

And as you let the breath go release any tension you're holding out into the night sky.

Inhale again slowly and exhale letting the day go.

And when you decide that you're ready to relax even deeper allow yourself to start sinking below the surface of the water.

This is a magic lake so you're able to breathe deeply even when you're underwater.

You're sinking deeper and deeper and as the water of the magic lake flows over you you start to feel your physical body relax.

You start to feel the water washing tension out of your muscles you start to feel totally relaxed as the waves wash over your feet your calves your thighs your pelvis your stomach.

Your back your chest down your shoulders your arms and your hands your neck and finally your head.

As you sink lower and lower down into the magic lake you feel your tongue fall from the roof of the mouth your lips part and your jaw drops.

You notice the small muscles around the eyes start to let go of any tension and the muscles of the forehead are also feeling extremely relaxed.

Finally you sink deep enough down that you find yourself at the bottom of the magic lake resting comfortably on the soft white sand you feel incredibly warm and comfortable lying here.

Every bit of tension has been washed away by the waters of the magic lake.

It's quiet here at the bottom of the lake as the water muffles any sound.

As you lie there looking up to the surface of the lake and the stars far above you you realize that there are beautiful fish swimming in the lake.

Some of them are beautiful koi fish with silvery scales and bold orange spots on their back others are fish you've never seen before with colorful long graceful tails.

Visualize now each one of your thoughts as a fish swimming above you as each thought comes up imagine a new fish coming into your field of vision watch as it swims by and then let it go as the fish swims away.

It's quiet normal to have lots of thoughts racing through your mind as you wind down as your brain is processing everything that happened today and putting everything away into its mental file folders.

The goal is not to stop your brain from processing the day but instead just sit back and watch as your thoughts unfold.

If you find yourself getting caught up with a thought gently but firmly.

Gently but firmly bring yourself back to the bottom of the lake watching the fish go by.

Now let go of any effort and just let your mind do whatever it wants to do.

If it starts to think just let it think and if you're sleepy and comfortable let yourself fully relax and drift off into sleep and get some rest.

Thank you for meditating with me today and I'll see you again next time.
