Hi friends,
Welcome to your meditation.
My name is Amber and today's practice is all about wellness.
Let's get started.
All right,
Coming together now.
Come to your comfortable position for the day.
Sitting up tall,
Arriving here.
You made it.
Now shifting your attention inwards,
Perhaps closing the eyes.
Start to assess how you're feeling today.
Doing a sort of internal listening where we're not literally listening with the ears,
But we're getting quiet enough to notice what thoughts,
Sensations,
Or feelings might come up.
So wellness has become a bit of a buzzword in the mental health community,
But for me,
It's still the best word to describe that palpable feeling in my chest and in my body when I'm feeling physically and mentally healthy.
I experience it as a warm feeling,
A sense of calm energy,
And lightness.
When I feel well,
I'm also feeling balanced,
Ease,
And relaxation.
So I invite you to identify a part of your body that feels really good today.
It can be big or small.
It can be the smallest flicker of a flame deep inside your chest.
Or if you're feeling pretty good today,
You might experience a sense of overall well-being throughout the body.
And now let's take a moment together to nurture that flame or sense of well-being wherever you find it today.
Inhale,
Sending oxygen to that place,
And watch it grow as you breathe into it.
As you exhale,
Feel the shoulders melt down,
The muscles of the face relax,
The center of the eyebrows,
Feel the jaw drop,
Perhaps separating the top and bottom teeth.
Keep breathing and nurturing that feeling of wellness in the body wherever it might be today.
For a long time,
I really wasn't that good at internal listening and noticing when I felt unwell.
Or I would notice that I was feeling,
You know,
Tired and flat,
But I would just keep working or keep pushing myself until my internal fuel gauge was completely empty and I felt burned out.
Now I am much better at it.
I've installed an internal alarm system so that I don't let my fuel gauge get anywhere near zero.
Now I'm way more sensitive to my energy levels and I check in with myself several times a day,
Even just a quick five-second check-in.
And if I've noticed that my energy levels have dropped below,
Say,
70%,
I take action to rest or feed myself or move my body in a way that helps me to recharge.
It's a much more sustainable way to live and I'm taking much better care of myself now.
So keep checking in with yourself now,
Noticing which areas of the body might feel good and which areas are feeling tight or tired or fatigued.
And breathe.
And as we come to the end of today's meditation,
Place a palm over your chest and rub it in a circle to generate some heat.
And pause.
Feel the warmth between the palm and the chest.
And I'll leave you with some ideas that you can take if you'd like to.
I deserve to feel well.
I deserve to thrive and feel vibrant.
Anything less than fully alive is not good enough for me.
I deserve to feel well.
I deserve to thrive and feel vibrant.
Anything less than fully alive is not good enough for me.
Gently open the eyes when you feel ready.
Thank you so much for meditating with me.
I hope you'll move forward into the rest of your day with a better awareness of yourself and take some action that will help you feel good.
