I'm super excited for this meditation today.

My name is Mallory and for those that haven't meditated with me in the past,

Welcome.

Today we are going to focus on expression and individuality,

Our self-expression,

How we express ourselves amongst our peers,

How we express ourselves amongst our friends,

How we express ourselves amongst our relationships,

Our family,

With our partners.

Expression is something that we can do visually by the clothes you're wearing,

By the color of your hair,

By the color of your clothes,

By the makeup you wear,

By the jewelry,

The way you talk,

The emphasis you put on certain syllables or as we call it,

An accent.

All of these things are part of our expression.

We notice little subtle aspects about ourselves and about others.

I invite you to find a comfortable space,

Either seated or lying down and take a moment.

Feel the ground beneath you.

Feel your legs touching the floor or the chair.

Lengthen out your back.

The breath in,

Breathing in,

Picking up your shoulders and as you breathe out,

Letting them fall.

Breathing in to your shoulders,

Breathing out,

Creating a little bit more space between our shoulders and our ears.

Unclenching your jaw and if you haven't already,

Shutting down your eyes.

You're safe,

You're secure,

You're yourself.

I invite you to bring to mind an image of yourself,

Maybe one that you think or makes you feel the most you.

Notice all of the aspects,

The colors.

Do you smell anything?

Do you see anything you weren't expecting?

Study yourself.

Has the image changed?

Do you feel a smile creep amongst your face?

Is there something else that fills up inside of you?

Do you want this image to change?

Feel free to change the clothes,

The style,

Change the things that you want to be focusing on.

And simply,

How do you want to express yourself?

The interesting thing about expression here is it's tied solely to you.

We think about who we are but then we leave that place in our brain and we go to hang out with our friends.

We go to the dinners,

The parties,

We go to work and we are no longer alone.

We're no longer able to just express ourselves to ourselves.

So the question I invite you to ponder or think on is how do we keep that expression while we are amongst others?

How do we protect our individuality and what even is individuality?

Individuality.

For some they would say continuing to speak in the same way,

Being even more cognizant about how they present themselves.

For me,

My individuality is similar to the definition which is the quality or character of a particular person or thing that distinguishes them from others of the same kind or simply a separate existence.

So in a way,

Your individuality is what makes you separate.

It would make you yourself,

Your own.

So one in one,

Your expression can create your individuality.

I think the trouble and the struggle here is how do you not lose yourself?

How do you not lose your individuality in a partnership,

Romantic or business?

I think at times we get lost in love,

In work,

And we need to come back to our true north,

To our existence,

Our character,

Our qualities that distinguish us from others of the same.

Mallory as Mallory,

Yourself as yourself.

Can you think of areas where you aren't fully yourself?

Is there a relationship that we can put under the magnifying glass and look at it?

Who is that person?

Do you recognize them?

Slowly you notice that this figure is starting to feel more like you.

They're acting like you.

The you that separates you from others.

Find that quality and blow it up.

Make it as large as you'd like it to be.

Let it take up all of the space.

We have a Leo full moon,

Which Leos,

They take up that space.

They are the center of attention on the stage.

They are the star.

Learn from the Leo here and embrace your expression.

Use the power of this moon,

But also just the reminder that you can always be whoever you want.

The parts of your expression that maybe aren't serving you,

You can leave them behind.

Really focus in on those qualities that separate you from others.

What makes you,

You?

I'll give you a couple moments here to bask in the you-ness.

We'll do a couple affirmations here,

Repeating to yourself,

Either out loud if you're comfortable or in your head if that feels more like you.

Starting with,

I am myself.

This is me.

I embrace all of this.

I own this.

I am ready.

Again,

I am myself.

This is me.

I embrace everything.

I am who I am.

I am ready.

Taking this energy,

Bringing your hands up above your head or if it feels more comfortable,

Wrapping them around yourself.

Feeling everything that makes you,

You.

Noticing,

Do you feel some energy stirring inside of you?

Bring your hands over your chest.

Taking this energy,

Taking this feeling,

This place that you're now in,

And bringing it forward wherever you're going next.

Whether you're about to start your day,

Whether you're going to go socialize,

Remember who you are.

Whether you're going to go to work or even lay down next to your partner,

Or maybe you're going to continue to sit alone,

In,

Be an individual.

No matter where you're going or what you're doing,

I invite you to always come back to your expression and what it is you would like your expression to be.

I know you are always an individual.

You are yourself,

Which means you are a separate existence.

Sometimes we can get lost,

But taking a moment to breathe,

Connecting back to our image of ourselves,

We can see we are individuals.

I thank you so much for spending this time with me,

For spending this time on yourself.

This time with me,

For spending this time on yourself,

From my heart to yours.

Thank you.

I hope to spend some time with you again.
