This meditation helps us show gratitude for our past moments and let go of them so we have space for what is to come. It gives you time to sit with yourself and open up (if only to yourself) a little bit more.

Hi and welcome to this meditation today.

Today we are going to be focusing on letting go and being open to our vulnerability.

I invite you to find a comfortable seat.

Maybe that's sitting up on a cushion on your couch on a chair or maybe that's laying down today.

Whatever is most comfortable that is what I invite you to do.

Taking a moment and noticing the floor or the cushion and seat beneath you.

Feeling held.

Noticing how your body feels.

Noticing how your legs are supported.

Working our way to our hips.

Maybe even moving your hips side to side and finding where they're comfortable.

Then straightening up our backs just a little bit.

Stretching up the spine.

On your next breath in picking up your shoulders and as you breathe out rolling them down your back.

We'll do one more of those picking up our shoulders and rolling them down.

Relaxing down the rest of your arms starting at your fingertips.

If you'd like putting one hand face up one hand face down or both up if you want to receive some energy or both down if you want to ground that calming relaxing grounding.

Working our way up to our neck bringing it in alignment with our backs.

If we're laying down stretching out a little bit more really intentionally letting the face go.

Letting your eyes close if they haven't already.

Your eyelids laying soft over your eyes.

Letting your face relax.

Your cheeks soften.

Your jaw unclenched.

Moving it from side to side even and noticing your forehead and any last little bit of tension that's in your head.

Letting it melt away.

Letting yourself ground and sit a little bit deeper into your seat.

Feeling your body ground a little bit more into your seat.

As we move forwards I invite you to look back on the last couple weeks maybe the last month and reflect on all of the moments.

Maybe you had a birthday or a special event.

Maybe you stayed home.

Maybe you traveled.

Whatever it was reflect on them and show each moment some gratitude.

Maybe some moments have come to your mind that were a little bit tougher.

Maybe some hard decisions had to be made or someone cut you off in traffic.

Whatever it is also think those moments as each of these moments is what got us to be here today.

Showing gratitude to anything that came up.

I'll give you a couple moments to sit with yourself and watch these moments.

If you get lost or wander off coming back to your breath.

Coming back to how it fills you and how it rushes out of you.

I'm coming back to those moments in the past couple weeks.

Starting to come back to yourself.

Invite you to imagine a mirror in front of you.

Noticing what shows up immediately but for now inviting yourself to look at you.

Staring at yourself in the mirror.

Notice what you see.

Notice what comes up for you.

What feelings.

What thoughts.

Taking yourself in.

I invite you to think of something you enjoy or passionate about.

Imagine watching that through the mirror.

Watching the scene unfold.

Letting that scene fade away and bringing the image of yourself back in front of you.

Noticing how you look this time around.

How watching that scene has made you feel.

Taking everything in.

Noticing your physical appearance but also noticing how it feels in your body physically.

Noticing how you feel looking at yourself this time around.

Taking a breath in.

Just watching.

As Rumi says,

This being human is a guest house.

Every morning a new arrival.

A joy,

A depression,

A meanness.

Some momentary awareness comes as an unexpected visitor.

Welcome and entertain them all.

Even if they're a crowd of sorrows who violently sweep your house empty of its furniture.

Still,

Treat each guest honorably.

They may be clearing you out for some new delight.

The dark thought,

The shame,

The malice.

Meet them at the door laughing and invite them in.

Be grateful for whoever comes because each has been sent as a guide from beyond.

Taking a moment and if you're comfortable reaching your arms around yourself.

Feeling that warmth.

Feeling your arms holding you as you're with yourself.

When you feel like you've got in,

Enough of this hug for now.

I invite you to reach your arms up over your head.

Stretching.

Gathering all of this energy that you've created.

Everything that's around you and bringing your hands back down over your heart and feeling it.

Feeling this exchange,

This warmth slowly starting to come back into your body even more.

Maybe wiggling your fingers and toes now.

Maybe rolling out your wrists,

Your ankles.

Maybe even moving your head from side to side very gently.

Thank you so much for sharing this time with me.

For taking some time for yourself and as always from my heart to yours,

Thank you.

Whenever you're ready,

Gently blink open your eyes.

Come back to your day.

I hope to sit with you again soon.
