Lesson 1

Time Management - Applying Pareto's Law And More

In this lesson, Nik covers Pareto's Law, Your Zone of Genius, Delegation, and Deletion, which allows you to claim your time back. This is one of the most important parts of being able to become a leader who can focus on the bigger vision, instead of getting bogged down with loads of tasks. Grab a journal and pen and take notes! Some questions that you may want to journal about are provided here: 1) What does Pareto’s Law say about productivity and time? 2) When I look at my work and my results, what are the 20% of actions that make up 80% of my results? 3) What is my unique skill set (or zone of genius) that only I can do?

 4) Out of the 20% of actions that make up 80% of my results, what of those are in my zone of genius that only I can do? 5) What of those actions/tasks that are left that I can delegate and to whom? 6) Are there any tasks left that can be completely deleted? 7) Looking at your task list now, how much time will you be saving each day/week? 8) What will you do in the rest of your time, so you can become a better leader? (Eg. spend time connecting with my team, fostering relationships, envisioning next steps, professional development, etc). Come and drop your biggest insights from this lesson and what you’re going to do in your spare time in the questions section of this course! Have questions? Pop them into the space too!
