Welcome to this meditation with me Nick Chung.
This meditation is for any of you who struggle to relax into the unknown,
To wish to know and to control the future,
Even though you know that that is futile.
So in this meditation we're going to explore how to let go in your body,
Your mind and your spirit so that you can ride the wave of life and trust in your journey and your path that is totally unique to you.
So let's get started.
Let's all take a big deep breath,
Connecting in with the body,
Allowing your breaths to slow down and to become deeper and more full and noticing how the mind follows the breath and also slows down and has more space.
Breathing in,
Breathing out.
Just take a moment to really connect in with your body,
Connect in with the sensations that exist,
Becoming aware of how your body feels in this moment.
With each breath in,
Creating more space in the body and with each breath out,
Letting go and relaxing deeper.
So now I want you to take your attention to your third eye and allow your mind to explore that space,
That space of clear vision,
That space of possibility.
I want you to imagine that all you see is blackness,
Darkness,
A blank slate in front of you and allow your body to relax into this vision,
This vision of blankness,
This vision of unknowns.
Using the breath to expand,
Deepen and relax.
And now see a pathway that extends out in front of you.
But this pathway just leads deeper into the darkness,
Deeper into the blank space and you can't see the end of this path.
Before you take any steps there,
Again connect in with your breath,
Find that relaxed open breath,
Find that deep curious breath and if there is some fear there that is okay.
Don't brush it away,
Just let your body feel this and let your body hold this,
Knowing that you are supported in every step along your path.
Now before we adventure down this pathway,
I would like you to become aware of your energy field.
So you might perceive this as a tingling sensation around your body or perhaps you will imagine it as a bubble around the surface of your entire self.
However it is that you perceive it,
I want to invite you to let this grow and expand with the breath.
So breathing in,
Draw energy up from the earth supporting you on your walk through your path and as you breathe out imagining this bubble or this sensation of energy expanding outwards.
Again drawing breath from the middle of the earth,
Bringing it up through your body into that spaciousness that is created with the in-breath and relaxing as you breathe out and expanding outwards.
One more breath like that,
Drawing up through your spine,
Feeling that space,
Holding for a second in that in-breath and the top of your breath and then letting go,
Expanding outwards.
And now take your attention back to this path that is in front of you and with this expanded energy field we are going to go and adventure.
Go and face our unknowns,
Go and explore that which we cannot see and that which we cannot control.
Remembering to maintain that deep breath that allows the body to relax and that allows the mind to be clear.
I want you to imagine that you're going in with the utmost curiosity and playfulness.
This is an adventure,
Life is an adventure,
Your path is an adventure and it is laid out before you to discover.
Allow that curious energy,
Playful energy to come into your body and you may find that you have a little smile,
This little cheeky smile coming to your face as this energy comes in and is part of your body right now.
With this curiosity and this playfulness now take your first step onto this path you cannot see the end.
The end is only a blank slate,
Empty space,
Unwritten,
Unknown.
I want you to take a step deep into that darkness and space,
Allowing your curiosity to grow and expand,
Allowing your breath to maintain deep spacious breaths,
Allowing this playful adventurous side of you to come into this adventure.
Some of you might imagine this adventurous side of you as your little child,
Your little self and if you like allowing that to become a figure that stands next to you and holds your hand and reassures your adult self that it is fine to be curious,
It is fine to play and it is fun to be on this adventure.
Let her or let him lead you deeper down this pathway and I want you to imagine that you go deeper,
Further down into the darkness and this pathway keeps leading you winding further down.
It gets so black that you cannot see anything in front of you,
Not even your hands,
Not even your little child,
Your little self next to you,
Nothing.
Just take a moment to notice how you feel,
Your emotions,
Your body,
Your mind,
Your spirit,
Wherever you are,
If you feel frightened,
If you feel any fear,
Instead of pushing it away,
Allowing it to move through you,
Just like a wave,
Breathing it in,
Breathing it out.
When you feel that that wave has moved,
Noticing in your breath and notice your energy field and if those things have shallowed or become smaller then just come back to that deep long breath and drawing up energy from the earth expanding outwards and just re-settling yourself into your most expansive version that is open,
That is playful,
That is curious and that is ready to step forward onto this exciting path of the unknown.
Continue your journey downwards,
Deeper,
Deeper downwards and I want you to walk along this path and so far it's been smooth and I want you now to imagine that the path becomes a little rough under your foot so you need to be a little bit more careful with how you step.
Maybe something catches your toe but just notice how your body catches you,
How it stops you from falling,
How it sets you upright,
How the breath can allow any fear,
Any adrenaline to move through your body,
To re-set yourself,
To tread carefully down this path that has gotten a little bit more uneven.
Keep walking slowly downwards and downwards and then you come to an opening at the bottom of your path and there's suddenly light and it's blinding.
So just take a moment for your eyes to adjust and feel that relaxation of coming into that light and as your eyes adjust notice that on your path several paths cross over and there are many paths that you could take.
And you see other people walking along these paths,
Walking along confidently,
Walking along faster than you,
Heading towards their destination that seems to be clear and they have an air of confidence as they walk along their paths that cross over yours.
And I want you to feel into that temptation to follow those people along their path because they seem to have it all together and they seem to be progressing faster than you perhaps.
Or they seem to know something that you don't know.
Let that really be felt through your body and just as we worked with the fear allowing that to move through your body so using the breath to breathe in,
Feeling the fullness of that temptation to move onto someone else's path and breathing and feeling your feet sticking to your unique journey.
Maybe feeling the curiosity or the tug to go in a different direction even though you know that your path is yours and your path is right.
Allow yourself to feel that curiosity instead of blocking it out and again breathing that in,
Allowing it to move through and again feeling your feet sticking to your path.
And I want you to look at a particular path that you feel is better in some way than yours.
So take your gaze towards that pathway and see the person on that pathway.
Perhaps it's someone you admire or perhaps it's someone you've compared yourself to who you think is further along their journey or has more of what it is that you want or you desire.
And really feel what that feels like.
Perhaps there's a longing in you,
Perhaps there is jealousy coming up,
Perhaps there is anger at yourself for not being further along on your own path.
Perhaps there is sadness or regret,
Whatever the feeling is welcoming it in,
Inviting it to be acknowledged and recognised in your body and your mind and your spirit.
Perhaps you want to speak to this part of you that feels those feelings.
Perhaps saying I acknowledge you,
I see you,
I feel you,
But there is nothing here to compare.
We are on our own unique journey.
We are on our own path.
Just notice how those feelings feel after you have said that.
And notice how the temptation to move onto the other's path or the brightness and the shininess of the other's path seems to dim and your path becomes a little brighter.
And feel your feet sticking to your journey.
Feel your resolve running up your spine.
Feel your energy coming back into the fold as it disentangles itself from comparing itself to others.
Feel how your feet feel more sure as you take more steps along this path,
Even though you don't know where it's going.
Breathing in,
Drawing up,
Expanding,
Breathing out,
Letting go.
This time as you're walking along your path,
Imagine those things that you expect should be in your life right now.
Maybe it was a house you were going to buy,
Maybe it was the love of your life that should have come into your life right now.
Maybe it's the success in your business that you should have achieved by this time.
Whatever it is,
See those expectations coming up into view on your path.
And as you walk towards them,
You notice that they actually block the whole path.
That you can't get past your expectations to move forward.
And it doesn't matter which way you look,
You walk all the way left and you walk all the way right and you try to see a way over and under and you cannot get past this expectation.
It is blocking your journey forward.
Now in whatever way feels good,
I want you to really acknowledge the feelings,
The emotions that come up with this expectation.
How do you feel about yourself having none of these things?
Not reaching your expectations of what you think your life should be at this moment in time.
And whatever is coming up,
Let yourself gently receive those emotions.
And if there are tears,
If there is anger,
Letting it really move through your body,
Express it outwards.
Don't try to hold it back with your breath,
Don't try to plaster it over with positive thoughts.
Allow yourself to feel your humanness,
To feel your frustration,
To feel your sadness,
To feel your anger,
To feel your regret.
Let it just flow through your body,
Uninhibited feeling.
Take as long as you need at this part of this journey.
If you need to pause.
And when you are done,
Just taking some deep breaths to reconnect with your feet,
To reconnect with your spine,
To open up that spaciousness in your body and your energy field.
Bringing back in that curious part of you,
That playful part of you,
That fun part of you that is ready for this adventure.
That is unique to you,
That is yours alone,
That is your journey of life.
And resuming your walk on your pathway as you notice these expectations have crumbled.
And the path forward is once again clear for you to move forward.
Each step,
I want you to imagine that your foot becomes stronger,
Feels more steady.
And with each steady step,
Your spine becomes taller.
And more power moves up and down your spine.
And with each step forward,
Your heart expands.
And it becomes wider and wider.
And it tugs you forward.
Even into those places that you have no idea where it will take you.
Feel your mind trusting this new path that is heart-led.
That brings you into unknown situations.
And feel how your mind starts to see it as curious,
Starts to see it as fun,
Starts to see it as exciting to be following your heart down your path.
And slowly taking your steps forward,
Noticing a bright light above you and your path starts winding you from the depths of darkness,
Uphill,
Upwards towards the light.
But the light is just as blinding as the dark.
You cannot see where this path takes you.
But it feels lighter.
It feels more expensive.
You might want to take a moment to touch your body and just feel your physicality.
Say to your body that you trust it.
Say to your heart that you trust it.
Say to yourself that you're ready for an adventure.
And taking these last few steps through that opening into the light and the path here feels more smooth.
The path here feels more like you're sliding along.
Even though you can't see the twists and turns,
Your body stays on path just like it's riding a wave.
You feel the undulations,
The up and down,
The twists,
The turns.
And instead of your feet catching,
You are sliding across your path towards the unknown.
This time it is fun.
This time you are enjoying the ride.
This time your curiosity and your playfulness are right here in you.
Right here in this moment with you.
Feel your body relax and weave and slide down and through and around on this light-filled path.
Where you cannot even see the next twist or turn.
But somehow your body knows.
Somehow your body catches you.
Somehow your body keeps you upright and it stays fluid and loose and strong.
And I want you to stop this little ride and just come to a standstill.
And wherever you are,
Allowing yourself to come back into your body right now to wherever it is that you're standing,
Sitting or lying.
Back into this 3D world and feel how your body feels.
Really become aware of your feet.
Become aware of your spine.
Become aware of the breath.
And when you're ready,
With a wee smile and adventurous cheeky grin,
Start to bring yourself back here,
Fluttering your eyelids open.
And coming back into this world ready to step upon your path into the unknown with more grace,
More compassion and more adventurous spirit behind you.
That's the end of this meditation.
I hope that you enjoyed that ride into the unknown.
Please take the time to allow yourself to integrate as we've been running energy through this meditation too.
So you may feel light-headed,
You may feel buzzy.
Take a big glass of water and if you can,
Get outside and ground yourself.
Or at least stand up and feel your feet.
So I hope that this makes your journey into the unknown and your journey on your unique path a whole lot easier to navigate.
As we let go of the comparisons that we might have of our lives to someone else's,
All the expectations that we might have put upon ourselves about what our life should be right now.
It becomes easier just to play and to have fun with where we are and trust our hearts and our spirits and our bodies and our mind to take us in the right direction and to support us in adventuring in this lifetime.
Have a wonderful rest of your day.
Thank you.
