"I'll breathe in stilling the bodily formation. I'll breathe out stilling the bodily formation." (MN 118) A guided practice for settling the body in its natural state of ease. Through breath and attention, you release tension area by area, then expand awareness to fill the whole somatic field. What remains is the body's own ground: deeply at ease and deeply present. Not through effort, but through letting go, releasing deeper and deeper into non-graspable stillness. Practice daily in the morning. In the evening, recall and inhabit the instructions without the guided audio. To fully integrate, we want to develop the capacity to carry these teachings independently. Move to 1.3 once the body settles readily and the somatic field feels vivid and alive. Part of A Path Between Worlds, a progressive contemplative training.
