Immerse yourself in the transformative practice of recognizing impermanence (Anicca) each day. This meditation invites inner liberation to blossom as you realize the three characteristics of existence. By embracing change, becoming intimately aware of all impermanent phenomena, and releasing your fixation on solidity, you gradually dissolve self-clinging and grasping—the roots of suffering. Over time, this practice deepens, leading you toward profound liberation and awakening. Dislodging the tightness we hold onto our conditioning, the depth and comprehensiveness of this insight can increase profoundly as practice goes on.

Let your awareness descend.

Allow your body to feel grounded,

Connected to the earth beneath you.

Feel the somatic sensations of the firmness and stability of the ground.

Let the weight of your body be fully supported through contact with the floor.

Feel the pull of gravity anchoring you and notice that it is in this solidity we can allow ourselves to release deeper and deeper.

Now bring your attention to your breath and with each out-breath let go of any tension or control.

Let each exhalation release fully trusting that the next in-breath will arise on its own.

Fully release any control.

Just allow the breath to flow naturally without interference,

Without any effort.

Let your breath become a gentle wave flowing in and out by itself.

Now release all hopes and fears,

Any concerns you might have.

Relax any memories,

Anticipations,

Any striving or effort.

Just simply bring your awareness to your awareness itself.

A simple knowing of being aware.

The natural knowing that's always already present and just resting in this clear open awareness.

Being aware of being aware.

So you should view this fleeting world,

A star at dawn,

A bubble in a stream,

Flash of lightning in a summer cloud,

A flickering lamp,

A phantom and a dream from the diamond sutra.

Seeing impermanence liberates the mind from clinging.

Inviting you to bring your attention to your hands.

Any feeling that is present in your hands.

The sensations your hands are made of.

Can you tune into their impermanence?

Can you feel how everything is constantly changing?

Feel the sensations flickering in and out of awareness.

Acknowledge the transient nature of each sensation.

Arising and passing by themselves.

Everything is coming and going.

Mindful of the changing nature of the sensations in your hands.

Their impermanence.

Anicca.

Just remain with the knowing of this fact.

The fact of change.

Constant change.

Notice how all the phenomena in your hands are fluctuating,

Shifting,

Changing.

Feel the sensations flickering in and out of awareness.

Now inviting you to move your attention to the sensations in your face.

Sensations that make up your face.

Tune into their impermanence.

Their changing nature.

Change,

Impermanence,

Anicca.

We are just becoming aware of the changing nature of all our experience.

We are just interested in the quality of impermanence.

Notice how every sensation that arises then immediately ends.

Just tuning into that.

The knowing of the changing fluctuations your face is made of.

Now really open up your awareness to include the whole body.

Stretch out your awareness to include the whole field of your body sensations.

And really tuning in to change and the fact of impermanence.

Whatever arises within this whole body space,

You look for the changing quality.

Nothing stays the same.

Phenomena arise and they dissolve.

All by themselves.

This whole field of energy is moving on its own.

Everything is in a constant state of flux.

Nothing is static.

Everything changes.

It is as if all phenomena are dancing.

The whole universe is vibrating.

Change,

Impermanence,

Anicca.

It doesn't matter if things move slowly or more quickly.

Just remain aware of all the pulsations and flickerings throughout the whole body field.

Let yourself be taken fully by all the change.

Coming and going.

Let it all change by itself.

No need to hold on to anything.

Keep opening up your awareness.

Stretch your awareness to include your whole body and all sensations present.

Try to extend your awareness even further to include all the sounds around you.

Flickering sounds coming into awareness and out again.

None are lasting.

All are changing.

Just rest in the ever-changing fluidity of all experience.

Everything coming and going by themselves.

Flickering,

Pulsating,

Vibrating.

Phenomena coming in and out of existence.

Just rest in the spaciousness that can hold all this movement.

This continuous ever-present flow.

This dancing stillness.

Let's spend a few minutes in silence now.

Simply observing the impermanent nature of all phenomena.

Whether it's a thought,

A feeling,

A sensation or a sound.

Just observe as it arises and passes away.

Just being aware of change,

Impermanence,

Anicca.

Just being aware of change,

Impermanence,

Anicca.

Just being aware of change,

Impermanence,

Anicca.

Thank you for watching.

Loved this one. The guidance seems like poetry, offering a fresh take on viewing reality. I enjoyed the invitation to orient towards the quality and nature of change in experience, here it was presented in a new way (for me), that I could revisit over and again with the inquiry increasing in depth. I also loved the editing choices to bring in different sounds and the quote towards the beginning. Well paced and thoughtful, precise instruction. Looking forward to practicing with this again.
