Today,
I will introduce Anahata or the Heart Chakra.
By providing information and context,
Then I will lead you through a meditation to bring the Heart Chakra into balance.
Anahata is the fourth chakra.
It is associated with Love,
Compassion,
Forgiveness,
Openness,
Unconditional Love,
Gratitude,
And Courage.
The Heart Chakra is known as Anahata and in Sanskrit,
This means unstruck or unbeaten.
Anahata is located at the heart center and extends from the heart,
Down the arms,
To the hands,
Across the upper chest and back.
The glands associated with the Heart Chakra is the thymus.
The lungs and heart are the organs associated with Anahata.
Anahata governs emotions of love,
Service,
And compassion.
Anahata is the bridge between the lower chakras and the higher chakras.
The lower three chakras connect you to the earth and are more grounded,
While the higher three chakras are connected to the spirit realm.
Anahata is the bridge between the body and the soul.
The element associated with the Heart Chakra is air.
The color associated with Anahata is dark green.
The seed sound is YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA not prioritizing your own needs.
Excessive energy can be pouring out love to your detriment,
Losing a sense of identity and personal boundaries.
Deficient energy in anahata can manifest as anger,
Jealousy,
Fear,
Self-hatred,
And hatred for others.
When the heart chakra is underactive,
It can be hard to forgive and move forward,
And it can have an isolating effect.
Deficient energy can also be an inability to accept love from others,
To receive love,
And can also numb or detach us from emotions.
When the heart chakra is balanced,
Emotions are felt and processed,
And then they are released and forgiven.
Love and compassion towards yourself and others flow easily when the heart chakra is in balance.
Feelings of respect are strong for yourself and others,
And the ability to forgive comes easily,
Allowing you to move forward and keep your heart open.
The mantra for this chakra is,
You are like air.
You are open to love.
You fully love and accept yourself.
You have a harmonious relationship with yourself and others,
And with the situations you find yourself in.
You are connected to the world and show unconditional love.
I invite you now to join me in a meditation to bring your heart chakra into balance.
Find a comfortable position,
Whatever that means for you.
Allow your body to relax.
Feel the earth supporting you,
Holding you up.
Now close your eyes.
This is your time.
Let go of worry.
Relax into your breath.
Notice any sounds inside of the room.
Acknowledge them and let them go.
Allow your shoulders and jaw to relax.
Release your scalp and forehead.
Relax your chest.
Relax your arms and hands.
Let them soften.
Release your feet and legs.
Let the whole body relax.
I invite you now to take a cleansing breath in.
Visualize breathing in cleansing energy.
And as you breathe out,
Let go of everything that no longer serves you.
Just allow your breath to fall in its own natural rhythm.
Not trying to control it in any way.
Just observing your breath and visualize breathing in relaxation and breathing out tension.
Inhale,
Breathe in relaxation.
And exhale,
Breathe out tension.
And if thoughts intrude,
Allow them to float by.
Breathing in relaxation and breathing out tension.
Now bring your attention to your heart center.
The center of your chest.
And see the green light swirling clockwise around your body.
Watch the green light get bigger and bigger.
As it spins,
It grows bigger and the light grows stronger.
And expanding from your heart all the way down your shoulders,
Your arms,
Your hands,
Up to your throat,
Your back.
And see this green light spreading and growing stronger and brighter.
And see it now connecting with all of the chakras.
Filling your entire body with this warm green light.
Allow the green light to continue to grow.
And see this green light extend out into your community,
To your family.
To the world.
As you share your green light,
Your light gets stronger.
It gets brighter.
As you share your green light,
You feel connected to others.
You have a strong sense of your boundaries.
And you feel supported.
And feelings of love,
Contentment,
Compassion,
Forgiveness,
And complete and utter acceptance fill your body as you connect to others.
Through this green light.
Staying connected to the green light,
Silently to yourself,
Repeat,
I am open to love.
I fully accept and love myself.
I have a harmonious relationship with myself,
With others,
And with the situations I find myself in.
I am connected to the world and show compassion and contentment.
I spread unconditional love to all beings and to myself.
Allow yourself to marinate in these feelings of unconditional love,
Connection,
Compassion.
And then we will begin to close down Anahata Chakra.
So again,
Bringing your attention to your heart center.
And slowly seeing the green swirling light getting smaller and smaller.
Bring the light back down to be the size of a quarter.
You are bringing your chakra back down to normal function.
Now silently to yourself,
Say,
My heart chakra is working and is at normal function.
Let go of the visualization and bring your awareness back to the flow of your breath.
Noticing the breath in and the breath out.
Noticing the space in between each breath in and each breath out.
Begin to become aware of your full body again.
And bring your attention to your toes.
Wiggle them back and forth.
Bring your attention to your fingers.
Notice your shoulders and give them a shrug.
Becoming aware of the room,
Noticing the sounds in your environment.
And when you feel ready,
You can open your eyes and return back into the room.
