Hello,
My name is Lou Redmond,
And today I'm going to share with you the first step on the path to transformation,
Transforming whatever area of your life that you feel needs some support.
I'm going to begin by sharing a quote.
You can't fix what is perfect.
You can only see it.
And come to realize your own perfection.
If I were to say that you are perfect,
How would that land?
You might have some resistance.
You might have a rebuttal in saying,
Lou,
What do you mean?
Nothing is perfect.
I'm not perfect,
And that's okay.
And I would challenge you to say that what if you're missing something that is essential,
This truth that's right under the surface,
That's opening way for a deeper perception.
Paramahansa Yogananda used to ask his followers to constantly ask in this moment,
What is not perfect?
And the answer would be to find that actually everything is perfect.
And so how do we glean this perfection?
And it starts by acceptance.
Acceptance is the first step on the path.
Of transformation acceptance is the foundation which all transformation begins You are not happy because you're not accepting what is.
If you can accept what's happening in your life,
You release resistance,
Which is just blocked energy,
And you open up pathways to change,
Which is the new energy.
And so to work with this acceptance and perfection together,
There's an understanding that perfection is a thing being what it is.
That something being what it is,
Is perfection.
Divorce is perfect.
Marriage is perfect.
Winning is perfect.
Losing is perfect.
Anger is perfect.
Joy is perfect.
It's all just being what it is.
What else can it be?
Joseph Campbell,
The famous mythologer,
Mythology professor.
I'm going to keep this in.
Joseph Campbell,
The famous mythology professor.
Used to say has this saying that The world is a mess.
It's always been a mess.
And it's not our job to change it.
In it being a mess,
It's perfect.
Our job is to.
.
.
Figure out our own lives,
To do our work so that we can become a more positive energy in the world.
And that's where the inner work.
Moves from.
It starts from acceptance,
Seeing the perfection,
And then stepping forward.
And this also applies to not only accepting ourselves,
Our situation,
But learning how to accept others.
Learning to notice the judgments that we have.
We have a lot of judgments for how our life,
We think our life should be,
And we have a lot of judgments for how other lives should be.
And so once we let go of this right and wrong resistance that we are holding around some other people,
Some person that they're not the way that we think that they should be.
And so we can let go of some of that resistance,
Create some more spaciousness as we continue to glance and glean the perfection of the moment.
And so an affirmation that I like that might be helpful for you.
Is I accept where others are at on their journey.
Starting with the outer and then coming into the inner.
I accept.
Where I'm at on my journey.
And start to notice any place in your life where you're starting to feel some blockage,
Starting to feel some resistance.
Starting to get your personal ego in the way and seeing if you can ask that question to yourself.
How can I accept?
How can I just be with this?
And that doesn't mean that we don't have preferences.
It doesn't mean that you don't still like certain things and not like certain things.
But you can step back from being in the content of your circumstance to a wider perspective.
You can move to the context.
And in the context,
You're witnessing.
You're witnessing what's happening in your life with a different view.
And as you're able to accept it,
You're not so much swayed by the wind going each way.
You're able to have a centered.
You're able to find more peace,
More equity.
Anonymity within the storms of your life.
And so I encourage you to think about what area of your life right now needs acceptance,
Because from that space,
That is where you're going to find transformation.
