This time of year is a beautiful time of year but it is also a time where people can feel very overwhelmed.
On top of all of the things we normally have to do there's parties and celebrations,
There's pressure we put on ourselves for everything to be perfect.
As we're running around doing all these things we often forget the whole reason we're doing them and that is to celebrate the people we love,
The life we live,
And to slow down just for a moment and enjoy it all.
So let's take a moment right now to quiet down,
Settle in,
And reflect on all of the things we have so we can be more in the moment and not feel so overwhelmed and chaotic this season.
So find yourself in a comfortable position and let's begin.
Take a nice long slow inhale in through the nose and as you exhale close your eyes.
Let's do that again.
A nice long slow inhale in through the nose and out through the mouth.
Breathe in through the nose again and out through the mouth and now just continue to breathe naturally in through the nose and out through the nose finding your rhythm and focusing on your breath,
Quieting down,
Allowing all the noise and the distractions to fade away and just be here in this moment.
As you continue to breathe in and out start to bring forward the people in your life that you are grateful for.
They can be your closest loved ones,
Your friends,
People that help and support you in your life,
Anybody that you can think of right now.
Bring them forward.
Now think about the things in your life that you're grateful for.
Shelter,
Food,
Clothing on your back,
Whatever comes to mind.
Continue to breathe in and out allowing these feelings of gratitude.
Open up your heart remembering all that you have.
It's the simple things that we often rush past but remembering all that we have can allow us to be more present in the moment.
Now focus on your breath in and out and as you do hold gratitude for the fact that you are breathing,
That you get to wake up each day and take a breath and start again.
You get to decide how your day is going to go,
Who you're going to see.
Hold gratitude for that and now silently repeat,
I am grateful.
I am grateful.
My life is full.
I am grateful for every day.
I am grateful for the people in my life.
I am grateful for all I have.
My life is full and I am grateful.
Now take a nice long slow inhale in through the nose and sigh it out and now smile.
Smile and allow that feeling of gratitude to fill your heart and remember this moment and how you feel as the days get busy and the time gets chaotic.
Remember all you have and why you're doing it.
Take a nice long slow inhale in,
Exhale and open your eyes and have a beautiful day.
