Research shows that gratitude not only can bring on happiness,
But it can improve sleep,
Immunity,
And so much more.
And if you pair that with the scientifically proven benefits of meditation,
This is an extremely powerful tool that you can use anytime,
Anywhere.
So let's find ourself in a comfortable position.
You can be laying down,
Sitting up against a wall,
Whatever works for you.
Perhaps you're laying in bed right now,
Right waking up.
Take a deep breath in,
Another deep breath in.
As you let that go,
Close your eyes.
Now if you're not already in bed,
Waking up for the day,
Visualize yourself in your bed right now,
First thing in the morning.
It's the moment you open your eyes.
How beautiful is it that we get to be in this day right now?
We're going to practice some gratitude affirmations today.
So as you inhale,
Silently repeat,
I am grateful.
And exhale for waking up today.
Inhale,
I am grateful.
Exhale for waking up today.
Continue to repeat that silently.
On the next exhale,
Let that affirmation go.
Now remember moving your body to get out of bed.
Maybe you did a gentle stretch.
Maybe you exercised or just walked to the bathroom to brush your teeth.
Think about how your body felt,
How it moves for you.
On the inhale,
I am grateful.
And on the exhale,
For my body,
I am grateful for my body.
I am grateful.
I am grateful for my body and all it does and will do for me today.
And on the exhale,
Now with your eyes continuing to be closed,
Feel the room around you,
The warmth of it,
The safety of its walls.
Maybe you're at home,
Maybe you're at your office.
Wherever you are,
Inhale,
I am grateful.
And exhale for this shelter.
I am grateful for this shelter.
I am grateful for this shelter.
Exhale,
Let that go.
Now as you continue to breathe,
Silently repeat the affirmation,
I am grateful.
I am.
Flow with your breath.
And as you repeat this silently,
Let all of those things you are thankful for come forward,
Almost like a slideshow.
Allow yourself to think about everything you are grateful for in your life,
Large and small.
Your family,
Your friends,
You enjoyed your favorite sneakers,
Whatever it may be.
Allow the slideshow to play for you as you continue to repeat,
I am grateful.
Breathe into this and I'll mind the time.
If your mind wanders,
That's okay.
Notice it,
Let it go.
Notice it,
Let it go.
Back to your breath and the words,
I am.
Finish that last round,
I am grateful.
Now let that go and just continue to breathe.
Breathe in to all that you have.
Breathe in to everything that will come,
Knowing that your life is full and that there is so much to be thankful for,
Even the smallest of things.
And as you continue on your day,
No matter what comes your way,
You can remember all of these things and breathe into that.
Now take another deep breath in and exhale out audibly.
Slowly bring yourself back to the room.
Feel your toes,
Your shoulders,
Maybe move them around a little.
With your fingers,
You can rub your palms together.
Deep breath in and when you're ready,
Open your eyes.
I am grateful that you meditated with me today.
Have a great day.
