Welcome to this guided meditation called the Year of the Snake 2025.
Let's begin.
Please get seated or lay down if you wish.
Closing your eyes.
Empty the mind.
10 seconds.
Thank you.
The Snake Year of 2025 traditionally begins on 29th of January.
This marking the end of winter and the beginning of spring.
Thus the Chinese New Year will begin.
Take a nice deep breath of life and you and traditions around the world.
So this meditation is looking for inspiration and plenty of flow and luck which we can tap into.
No matter where we live,
Each place around the world will have something amazing to share.
Perhaps full of wisdom,
Always new creativity,
And finding out more new things that can support us and brighten our days.
The Chinese zodiac and its calendar originated in ancient China 3,
500 years ago.
This alone shows how humans have evolved traditional values and religion and so on.
Breathe into a moment of where your family came from.
Stepping back with the family tree.
Hundreds and hundreds of years.
In summary,
Going back in time.
We are always evolving,
Learning new skills as we journey through earthly time.
What I love about the Year of the Snake is this yearly connection to a certain Chinese zodiac animal.
I find power animals and mystical animals,
Even the animal kingdom,
A great source of strength,
Love and power to us humans.
And I hope you will get curious about the 12 animals that take it in turn to be with us.
Quickly to summarize,
The following are Rat,
Ox,
Tiger,
Rabbit,
Dragon,
Snake,
Horse,
Goat,
Monkey,
Rooster,
Dog and Pig.
But for now,
It's all about the Snake,
Who reigns throughout 2025.
I want to be inspired and also inspire you.
So the preparation of cleaning one's house,
To remove dust and bad luck.
Homes really are the forever living space.
And it's good to keep on top of cleaning.
Or the old saying of having a spring clean.
Let's think deeply for a moment.
When the home is clean again,
It creates a higher vibration.
Plus a sense of newness.
Reorganizing improves our well-being.
For lots of clutter fills up space and light.
So this comes back to the flow of energy around us.
We too are sensitive with the heart involved in everything.
Plus our sensitive aura and our spinning chakras.
Everything needs to flow.
Breathing into the flow of your breath.
And the decorating side of things.
Blessing the very home.
Red and Gold are amassed.
Like a lot of celebrations,
They are creating a high energy feel with color.
The very word Lantern.
Pictures are very artistic,
Yet old and traditional way of lighting.
The fun part of paper cutouts.
For we all love hobbies,
Crafting,
Making that personal touch.
And the cleverness of using red envelopes.
For giving and receiving them.
That contain money for those who are still single or young.
There's nothing quite like an envelope that is in your hand,
Waiting to be opened.
Also,
Posting is really old style,
Yet global.
For everybody.
And it was the Chinese who invented paper.
Remembering we are creators.
In this world of different levels of technology,
You are,
You may not be so up-to-date.
So posting through your letterbox will carry on in tradition.
And can we imagine a world without Christmas cards?
Nice deep breath in now.
For a new year affects everybody.
And in a spirit of renewal,
Optimism and hope for the future.
So what does the snake symbolize in Chinese?
For example,
They are regarded as little dragons.
And the skin that the snake naturally sheds is referred to the dragon's coat.
Symbolizing good luck,
Rebirth and regality.
And how would it feel to be born this animal?
A creature with no limbs that hugs earth wherever they go.
Able to climb a tree,
Almost hugs it.
Breathe into a moment.
If I were to choose in being born a dog or a horse,
But a snake makes you think a little longer.
For the journey in life seems a solitary one as well.
And now for the fun of snake people.
Simply because you are born in that year.
Remember the snake returns every 12 years when it is his turn again.
The snake symbolizes the pursuit of love and happiness.
And the snake can also represent wealth and wisdom.
In traditional Chinese culture,
They are often grouped with the turtle and the crane as a symbol of longevity.
Each year also corresponds to one of the five elements in Chinese cosmology.
Of metal,
Of water,
Of wood,
Of fire and earth.
Breathing into metal,
Thinking perhaps cutlery that you use every day.
Breathe into water that is always close to us.
Breathing into wood and a boat brings a smile to your face.
Breathing into the fire of warmth for humans we need it to survive.
Breathing into earth to feel grounded and to be that explorer.
Breathe into the nourishment of holidays too.
So 2025,
We have the wood snake.
And these people tend to exhibit resilience.
They are also courageous.
Remember we can be strong at heart and strong in mind.
They are also known as being positive people.
Allowing them to maintain the drive and confidence to preserve in the face of adversity.
This also includes excellent interpersonal and social skills.
They often emerge as leaders within their circles of friends.
Wood snake individuals are recognized for their keen insight and extraordinary intelligence.
They can swiftly grasp the key points when addressing problems and able to make the right decisions.
This quality makes them comfortable in both the workplace and in social situations.
And they excel at creating opportunities and paving the way for themselves and others.
Traditionally,
The Chinese regard people born in the spring and born in the summer of the snake year as the most powerful and most positive.
Maybe you could wear the snake symbol,
A piece of jewelry or other visual snake things.
For it seems to hold magic and power that we can all enjoy.
As for the rest of us,
Showing respect to snakes throughout this year can attract great attention.
Good fortune.
As earthly people,
We wear many different clothing.
So to wear red or to wear green or gold for good luck.
For no matter how much happens in life,
A little luck will surely be an advantage.
Now the color red is the most potent for good luck.
It is thought to repel evil spirits and misfortune.
Again,
We do work on an energy level.
So looking after the chakras and the aura and keeping low vibrations off.
Now,
Born in the year of the wood snake,
Green is the most auspicious color for life.
Breathing into a rewarding happy life.
Therefore,
Green can enhance the energy,
Attracting good luck and favorable fortune.
Gold represents wealth and prosperity.
It is another auspicious color,
Especially in the year of the wood snake.
Therefore,
Using gold in decorations or wearing gold can attract positive energy and enhance finance,
Prosperity and maintain a healthy balance.
Let's take a nice deep breath in and focus on the home now.
Bringing some good fortune to your home with special life improving Chinese symbols.
Starting with the universal flower.
So picture the orchid.
Found also in lots of Chinese artwork.
Confucius considered the orchid a noble plant.
Noble because when he came across it in the woods,
He compared their giving off of their fragrant aroma,
Despite no one being around to appreciate it.
To a man who maintains his noble character in spite of poverty.
Another Chinese symbol is bamboo.
The bamboo is rich in meaning.
Its Chinese word means to congratulate.
It has positive qualities such as its hardness.
It grows and is green all year round.
Represents durability and strength.
Whilst its flexibility represents resilience.
For even in strong winds,
It will bend but not break.
And then return to its upright position.
It is considered honorable in its simplicity,
As it produces no flowers or fruit and is an empty star.
So the Chinese see it as modesty and humility.
Another Chinese symbol is actually the number five.
Five is always considered auspicious.
Particularly because of its association with the five elements of water,
Fire,
Wood,
Metal and earth.
Many other principles such as the five blessings,
Five classics and the five metals.
Do you feel yourself a personal connection to five?
For some it is a working week with traditionally the weekend to follow.
A long life can be married to the five working days.
There are also many important birds in Chinese symbology.
The most important of which is the phoenix.
Can you picture right now the phoenix and feel its power?
This mystical bird is described as the king of birds and represents all winged animals.
Phoenix symbolizes good fortune and opportunity.
It is the Chinese symbol of the empress.
And when shown with the dragon,
The emperor connects to a perfect marriage.
Now longevity is important to Chinese.
And the crane bird,
Due to its long life,
The crane symbolizes longevity and flying cranes symbolize a hope for a promotion.
This Chinese word is similar to harmony.
So a pair of cranes is a harmonious marriage.
Now the Chinese symbol of a dragon.
The dragon is the most powerful symbol in this culture with supernatural powers and the ability to control cosmic forces.
As humans,
We often class ourselves above all living things.
The dragon is very much a sacred imperial symbol.
It again represents the emperor,
Just as the phoenix represents the empress.
The Chinese dragon is always seen as good-natured and is the most auspicious of all.
One of its ability is that of summoning rain to dry land,
Which suggests prosperity.
I think we can all relate to the dragon,
For it will touch us in some point in our lives.
Another Chinese symbol is the Ginkgo tree.
Where would we be without trees?
The Ginkgo tree is a native of China and considered a sacred tree.
It is described as a living fossil,
On account of it being a remnant of the dinosaur period,
And is the oldest species in its division,
With no living relatives.
Although it originally grew throughout the northern hemisphere,
Only a few in China survived the last ice age.
But because of its resilience,
It represents longevity and enlightenment.
Breathing deep into enlightenment,
It is a symbol of peace and well-being.
And now the Chinese symbol of a vase.
A vase symbolizes peace or safety.
And a vase which holds flowers from all seasons,
Symbolizes peace throughout the year.
Think for a moment of your favorite flowers in that vase at home.
The Chinese also love the symbol of the fish.
Fish that also symbolizes wealth,
As the word sounds similar to abundance and affluence.
A leaping carp symbolizes overcoming a difficult challenge.
And a pair of fish would visually represent happiness in marriage.
A classic yin and yang shape,
And is related to fertility due to the reproduction of fish.
And the reproductive success of fish.
Also,
Fruit is important.
The fruit,
Especially of pomegranates,
Are a universal symbol of prosperity,
Fertility,
And many offspring.
The pomegranate were also used in Buddhist religious ceremonies,
Being regarded as a good luck charm.
The last Chinese symbol is all about the color red,
As one of the five colors which represent the five elements,
Of which is fire.
Red is also a symbol of success,
Happiness,
And celebration.
Traditionally,
Chinese brides wear red.
It is considered to ward off evil and bring good fortune.
Breathing into the excitement of sheer red.
I hope you have enjoyed the sharing and sheer magic of doing things the traditional Chinese way,
That is carried through each new generation.
Let's complete this with a little added magic.
Please see yourself holding a box that is a present.
And you wish to honor the year of the snake.
And start to walk up to it,
Dressed in a golden gown.
This golden gown is also decorated with a touch of green and red.
You bow before the mystical magic snake.
And then,
You look deeply into all the power of greatness it holds.
The snake also realizes you are magical too,
And accepts the present you give.
Whatever is in sight,
Will be what is needed.
Feel the compassion that humans possess for all animals.
Accept a blessing in this moment.
Maybe your kundalini will rise.
Or perhaps shed a coat of the aura.
Ready for newness.
Have half a minute.
Right now,
Thank you.
Now breathe into your own luck.
Your creative ways.
And support it.
May life bring many blessings.
As you bless all that you have and will.
And may the year of the snake be abundant in 2025.
Let's open the eyes please,
To the count of five.
One,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five.
Eyes opening nice and bright.
