This meditation has been created to support you in the transition to our inner and outer autumn.
Start by finding yourself in a comfortable position,
Seated with the spine tall or laying down with the earth beneath you.
Whichever position feels most aligned for your energy levels,
Choose it now and find a sense of inner and outer stillness.
We begin with three cycles of deep breaths in and long breaths out through the mouth.
Breathe in and sigh the breath out.
Breathe in and fill the body up.
And breathe out letting the shoulders slide away from the ears and any tension release from the body.
One more deep breath in.
And a long breath out.
As you rest here,
Let your body sink deeper and deeper and deeper into stillness.
Let your entire body be supported by the surface that you are resting on.
Scan your awareness up and down from the crown of the head to the tips of the toes.
Each time just noticing if there's any parts of you that are still holding on.
Allow them,
Give them permission to soften.
Give them permission to soften,
To let go,
To release.
And give yourself permission to take this time to support your entire being with this meditation.
Now as you rest here,
Begin to imagine your body is being supported by a deep bed of autumn leaves,
Cushioning and holding you in mother nature's arms.
The leaves encase the underneath of your body and there is an invitation to surrender your weight fully in this moment.
Surrender your weight beautiful one.
Let the earth hold you just for this time.
As you rest here,
Your inner gaze turns towards the sky.
It is a bright clear autumnal sky without a single cloud to disrupt the vast expanse of blue.
Around the edge of your view,
You see the spindly branches of different trees weaving their way towards the centre of your gaze.
Beautiful patterns and shapes that they make with their natural form.
Beach trees,
Oak trees,
Horse chestnut trees are medley of the mother's creations,
Still with some of their rusty golden leaves entwined in their arms.
One leaf breaks free and you start to watch its journey down towards you.
Almost in slow motion,
You can watch the path it takes as it gradually floats,
Twists,
Dances and takes its time to let gravity take its natural course.
It eventually lands softly on your chest.
Another leaf starts to descend from the trees above you.
Again you watch it make its way all the way down,
Slowly,
No rush,
Seeing the way it effortlessly tumbles towards the earth in complete surrender.
This leaf lands gently on your belly.
More leaves now start to break free from the trees and take their journey down.
Stay here and watch them as they take their final path towards you.
Watch how they land on your body softly and carefully and be with this for a few moments.
Your body now holds a scattering of beautiful autumn leaves.
Now visualize yourself starting to rise up from this position,
This cocoon of cosy leaves and earth and as you do so,
Watch each leaf gently drop away from your body.
One by one,
The leaves take with them all that needs to be shed and sent back into the earth.
All that no longer serves you.
Any out of date programs that you have been leading from,
Any worries and anxieties that do not support you,
Any fears or expectations that are not helping you to grow.
Take a moment and reflect and see if there is anything specific that you want to release and then watch as it falls with the leaves into the ground,
Ready to sink back into the earth and begin a brand new cycle.
Now that you are free of these constraints,
You feel ready to walk away powerfully,
Slowly making a new path forward with a lighter,
More trusting sense about you.
Step by step,
You leave the leaves behind and come onto a clearer trail,
The trail that has been waiting for you,
The trail that you are ready for.
It's in this weight,
This sacred pause,
A time to rest without the void of uncertainties and nothingness,
Uncomfortable,
A confusing mess.
These moments we are taught to fear,
But just because they don't seem clear does not mean things aren't occurring.
It's all in fact a beautiful unlearning.
I see you're angst amongst the space,
You aren't behind,
This isn't a waste.
It's under the surface and in the gaps,
The unseen growth is in the cracks,
Slowly shifting and ever changing,
Perfect timing,
Our soul rearranging.
It's a tapestry,
Magic is being woven,
In time sweet one,
These seeds will grow again.
Let these words settle and sink in and when you're ready,
Take some time to reawaken yourself,
To step forward and to continue with your day knowing that this is the season of becoming.
This is the season where we can let go of all that holds us back,
In time we will all grow again.
