So gently closing your eyes either fully or partially.

And being aware of the sounds around you.

No need to strain to find sound.

Just staying here and allowing sound to come.

Finding sound.

And allowing yourself to delight in sound.

Resting your attention on one sound.

And then when you notice another sound,

Moving your attention very gently to the next sound.

And when you notice your mind wandering,

Which it always will do,

Very gently,

Very kindly bringing your awareness back to sound.

The sound is playing just for your ears.

Enjoying the stillness of being the recipient of sound.

And when your mind wanders again,

Very gently in the way that you might usher a puppy or a small child back to where they need to be.

Bringing your awareness back to sound.

And then when you notice another sound,

Moving your attention very gently to the next sound.

And then when you notice another sound,

Moving your awareness back to sound.

And then when you notice another sound,

Moving your awareness back to sound.

As a musician, I'm constantly analyzing sound, and after 20 years I can't stop, it gets tiring, I'm quickly finding this is helping me focus on just 1 at a time. Very relaxing :)
