Come into a position where you feel both comfortable and alert.
You could be lying down or in a reclined position,
Sitting upright or maybe you have your legs up the wall in an inversion.
Tune into your body and see if you can tell what it needs today.
As you settle in,
Close your eyes or soften your gaze,
Beginning to take this journey inward.
Start by taking slow,
Deep breaths in through the nose and out through the nose.
When your breathing is slow and steady,
Your diaphragm tells your brain that everything is under control.
You are calm and safe and there is nothing to worry about.
Can you begin to feel your body relax a little more with each exhale?
Start to slow the thoughts down by completely focusing on your breath.
Think to yourself,
Inhale as you breathe in and exhale as you breathe out.
You can also add a count after every exhale.
So your thoughts would be inhale,
Exhale one.
Inhale,
Exhale two.
Try to make it all the way up to eight,
Then back down to one.
Now that you're settled in,
You can release the counting of breaths and just sit with the inhale and exhale.
Our deep listening question is inspired by the astrological concept of debilitation.
Planets can become debilitated if they are in a sign that's awkward with its nature.
In the same way,
You can experience debilitation or discomfort when you find yourself pushed out of your element.
This can be uncomfortable,
But these types of situations can offer you the chance to stretch further.
If you are in this situation,
Instead of asserting yourself and your opinion,
Try to listen and learn.
Pass the ball to someone else.
Do the work behind the scenes and bolster the team.
You may have to reconsider your idea of success,
But remember,
Exploring the discomfort can help you grow skills so that you are more prepared.
Now turn your focus inward and ask yourself,
Where do I need to stretch?
Sit with this question without trying to analyze or think,
Or think and allow any answers to come up from deep within.
Where do I need to stretch?
As you practice tuning in to your intuition,
You may notice that you don't always hear words.
You may have gotten images or impressions or even seemingly random thoughts or memories.
You may not have gotten anything.
Something may come up later.
Take the next few breaths to process your experience.
Listen to the following affirmation,
Repeat it,
And let it resonate deep within.
I am willing to move into new directions and I can learn what I need to know as I go.
I am willing to move into new directions and I can learn what I need to know as I go.
As we reach the end of today's practice,
Bring the palms together at heart center,
Slightly bowing your head.
Take a moment to reflect on your experience.
Did you connect with your inner wisdom?
Did you practice listening and being open?
Allowing this experience and any insights you've gained to stay with you.
Bring your awareness back to your physical surroundings.
Take your time and whenever you're ready,
Open your eyes and allow your body any movement that it needs.
