Settle into a position where you feel both comfortable and alert.
This could be a seated position,
Or maybe you're lying down or propped up on a wall or a cushion.
Choose whatever shape works for you today.
This is your time and you don't have to meet anyone's expectations.
When you're settled in,
Close your eyes or soften your gaze,
Beginning to take this journey inward.
Move your attention to your feet.
Notice the contact between your feet and the ground.
Imagine small,
Strong roots growing from your feet into the ground.
See the roots begin to grow deeper and widen into the earth,
Like the roots of a tree that begin to emerge from a small seed and go forth to grow bigger and stronger as they penetrate deeply into the earth,
Forming a strong foundation for a big tree.
So are the roots from your feet,
Penetrating deep into the ground,
Forming a firm foundation for you to stand on.
Like the roots of a tree absorb water and nutrients from the soil and transport them to the trunk,
Leaves and branches for the tree to grow.
Visualize energy from the center of the earth flowing up the roots into your feet.
This energy flows upward through your legs,
Into your thighs,
Your upper body,
And head,
Filling you up with all the good energy you need to survive,
Thrive,
And be healthy.
Your feet are firm on the ground and supported by the earth,
And your entire body is receiving all the energy it needs right now from the earth.
Take a few breaths to just embrace this feeling.
Now let go of that visualization and we'll practice pursed lip breathing.
Pursed lip breathing is a simple breathing technique that will help make deep breaths slower and more intentional.
The inhale for this breath is through a closed mouth for a count of two,
But when you exhale you'll pucker your lips as if you're giving a kiss and breathe out for a count of four.
We'll do this together three times,
Then I'll give you a few moments to practice at your own pace.
Start by taking a full exhale,
Keeping your mouth closed.
Inhale slowly through your nostrils for one,
Two.
Now exhale through your pursed lips for four,
Three,
Two,
One.
Inhale,
Exhale.
Inhale,
Exhale.
Now take the next few moments to try this practice at your own pace.
Release this exercise by bringing your focus to your breath as you slowly inhale and exhale through the nose.
Hold on to any feeling of relaxation that you may have cultivated with that practice.
Now let's go deeper by considering a question that is inspired by the tarot card,
The Ace of Wands.
In this card there is a hand extending from a cloud that is holding a wand sprouting leaves.
The landscape in the background is rich and lush and the card indicates there could be a new opportunity with the potential to grow.
There are also some rolling peaks in the background that remind us there will be challenges along the way,
But nothing we can't handle.
What I love about this card is that it indicates if you're looking for a sign to whether something you're considering is the right project,
The answer is yes.
So begin to turn your focus inward and ask yourself,
What new opportunities are available to me?
Sit with this question without trying to analyze or think and allow any answers to come up from deep within.
What new opportunities are available to me?
As you practice tuning in to your intuition,
You may notice that you don't always hear words.
You may have gotten images or impressions or maybe random thoughts or memories that popped up,
But anything that came up could have meaning.
So take a few breaths to process whatever came up for you and consider if there's anything you want to act on.
Now listen to the following affirmation,
Repeat it to yourself and let it resonate deep within.
My potential has no limits.
My potential has no limits.
As we reach the end of today's practice,
We bring the palms together at heart center,
Slightly bowing your head and take a moment to reflect on your experience.
Were you able to connect with your inner wisdom?
Did you practice listening and being open?
Having this experience and any insights that you've gained to stay with you,
Bring your awareness back to your physical surroundings.
Take your time and when you're ready,
Open your eyes and allow your body any movement that it needs.
