Hello and welcome to this after work relaxation meditation.
So we'll begin by getting comfortable,
Creating a long spine,
Softening the shoulders,
Just giving yourself permission to be here right now.
And close the eyes if that feels good to you.
And just take a moment to arrive,
Noticing that the day is done.
Taking a slow breath in,
And a long breath out.
Again,
Inhaling,
Softening the little muscles that run up and down the spine,
And letting the shoulders slide down the back.
Taking one more big deep breath,
And reminding yourself that there's nothing that you need to hold on to right now.
And bring your awareness into your body,
Noticing where the day might still be living.
Maybe it's in your shoulders,
Or your belly,
Or your hands.
There's no need to change anything.
Just notice.
Now begin to deepen your breath a bit more.
Maybe inhaling just a little bit more,
And exhaling a little bit of extra breath.
Allowing that exhale to be long,
Really taking your time with it.
The exhale almost like a pressure release valve,
Letting go tension,
Energy from the day.
Maybe not all at once,
But little by little with every breath cycle.
And now imagine the day behind you,
Not replaying it or analyzing it,
But just seeing it as something that has already happened.
Reminding yourself that you don't need to carry it forward into this moment,
But you can leave the day here.
Giving yourself permission to say goodbye to the workday,
And to not pick it back up until tomorrow.
And now imagining yourself stepping away from the workday,
And into your time of rest,
Of rejuvenation,
Of pause.
Softening the muscles in your body,
And just giving yourself permission to simply be.
Allowing this transition to naturally happen,
As you step across the threshold from the day behind,
And the time of rest ahead.
And now telling yourself three times,
I give myself permission to rest.
Now is my time for me.
And staying here for a few more breaths,
Letting everything settle,
And everything unwind on its own time.
I'm taking a big deep breath in through the nose,
And open mouth exhale,
Sigh it out.
