Hello,
Beautiful ones.
Welcome to this gratitude meditation.
Get into a comfortable position,
Either on a chair or on the floor.
Sit in a way that is just comfortable for you.
It's best if your spine is straight and you're in a relaxed yet alert posture.
Take your time getting comfortable,
Finding what works for you.
Tiddly opening your chest,
Feeling your long neck,
Sitting up nice and tall,
Yet keeping some space between your shoulders and your ears.
Then gently close your eyes and take a deep breath in and letting out any tension or tightness on the exhalation.
Notice your arms and your hands and where they are on your body.
And then begin to take some deep breaths in through your nose,
Inhaling awareness,
And exhale out from your mouth,
Softening and releasing.
In and out.
Begin to see if you can bring a sense of gratitude to your awareness about things or situations in your life as you continue to breathe in and out.
Perhaps you feel grateful for something you have,
So bring into your mind those objects you're grateful for,
Like your house or your apartment or your bed or your comfy couch.
Breathe deeply as you visualize these particular objects that you're thankful for.
And as you exhale,
Allow yourself to whisper thank you.
Breathing in and breathing out.
Perhaps expressing gratitude for the people in your life.
Allow the people or maybe one particular person or even an animal,
A pet,
To come into your mind.
Picture them clearly.
Breathe deeply.
Perhaps you can even imagine how they sound.
And as you breathe out,
Whisper thank you.
Breathe in and breathe out.
Perhaps becoming grateful for yourself,
Your health,
Your wisdom,
Your kindness,
Your knowledge.
Perhaps bringing gratitude for the times that you stood up for yourself or you stood up for someone else.
Gratitude for your ability to love others.
Breathe in deeply,
Imagining that you can send some of that compassion to yourself and whisper thank you.
Breathe in,
Breathe out.
And now even bring to mind some of the smallest things,
Whatever pops into your mind.
Perhaps eyeglasses that allow you to see or the buttons that hold your shirt closed or the zipper on your warm jacket.
Whatever small things pop into your mind right now,
Bring some gratitude for them.
Breathe in again,
Feeling the importance of even the little things.
And exhale,
Whispering thank you.
Take a deep breath in and bring some gratitude even to your breath,
Bringing your life and then letting your breath just fall away when you exhale,
Feeling your body sinking deeper and deeper into this relaxing moment.
And now taking some time to focus on the world around you and finding some gratitude.
Live in the present moment without worrying and if your mind wanders,
Bring it back,
Being connected to that sense of gratitude.
Really feel yourself as you are,
Your authentic self,
Not as you believe you should be or ought to be or all the things you're not.
Just be grateful for who you truly are.
The fact is we can truly enjoy things if we allow ourselves to.
We can enjoy the things that we have right here in this moment.
We don't really need anything else.
We already have what we need to make the most of our time here,
Bringing gratitude to our mere existence because we're present in this moment.
Now bring to your mind's eye all the things that bring a loving feeling into your heart.
Focus on the sights and the sounds,
The smells of the feelings of those things that bring love to your heart.
Perhaps even feeling a little bit of a tingle that's the response to beauty and love.
And as you breathe,
Just allow yourself to soak in and out,
In and out.
And as you breathe in this time,
Allow that feeling of love to grow.
Allow it to grow like ripples in a pond so that it gently pushes out anything that is not love or gratitude or peace right now.
See if you can bring all of your awareness to your heart and the love,
The love that you carry for sometimes the things that we take for granted and that we forget.
And so perhaps repeating these words,
I'm grateful for this moment.
I embrace each day with gratitude.
Every day I'm more mindful of the small things I can be grateful for.
I'm grateful for my ability to sit in and create the love that I long for.
Each day I'm grateful for the beauty of life.
I am grateful for the things that I have been blessed with.
I'm thankful for my ability to be resilient and to achieve.
I'm grateful for my friends and my family.
And now taking a deep breath in and on the exhale,
Just allow your body to soften even more and take the next few moments to bring a sense of gratitude to anything that we didn't mention that pops up for you.
And recognizing how important it is to find the time in your day,
Every day to just set aside a few moments to bring a sense of gratitude not only for yourself and for your life,
But for your family and your friends.
And now one more deep breath in and letting it out,
Wiggling your fingers and your toes and then gently opening your eyes whenever you're ready.
I'm Kelly.
Be well and have a wonderful day.
Namaste.
