Hello,
Beautiful,
And welcome to tonight's sleep meditation.
I'm really grateful you're here with me.
Close your eyes and invite your body to settle.
Now,
Draw in a deep breath through your nose,
And then exhale slowly through your mouth.
Again,
Breathe in deep,
And then exhale slow.
Bring your breathing to an easy rhythm,
Feeling its motion in and out of you.
Slow you down,
And let the weight of your body surrender,
Allowing the mattress to hold you completely.
Feel your whole body soften,
Your forehead release,
Your jaw relax.
Feel your shoulders drop down,
And your arms,
Your hands,
Your belly slowly unravel and relax.
Breathe here for a moment,
Just this moment,
This breath.
See if you can imagine that you're sitting in a small wooden boat,
Cradled in the gentle sway of a velvet river.
The air is cool and sweet,
And the sky is painted with twilight.
Shades of deep lavender and soft gold stretch across the horizon.
The boat moves slowly,
Smoothly,
Guided by the current.
No paddles,
No destination to reach.
Just a ride,
A slow,
Gentle ride.
You rest back on the velvet cushion behind you,
Feeling fully supported and safe.
The sound of the water lapping is like a lullaby,
Soft and rhythmic.
And beneath the surface,
Shimmering fish swim in spirals of light.
The river is narrow,
Surrounded by tall willow trees that lean in close.
Whispering in a language only the soul understands.
The air carries a scent of jasmine and moss,
And every inhale draws you deeper into peace.
The further the boat glides,
The deeper your body sinks into relaxation.
Your mind,
So active earlier,
Is now like the sky overhead.
Wide,
Open,
And quiet.
There's nothing left to hold,
Nothing left to carry.
The river is carrying it all for you.
Let it take the worries.
Let it lift the plans.
Let it carry the residue of the day downstream,
Far,
Far away from you.
Every bend in the river takes you further from tension,
Closer to the soft shores of sleep.
And soon,
The trees part,
And they reveal a hidden cove.
Light scatters on the surface like silver glitter.
Here,
The boat drips into stillness.
The water is flat and calm.
You lay back fully now,
Breathing slow.
You are ready.
Ready to be wrapped in dreams.
Ready to drift.
Let the velvet river hold you,
And let your soul rest here tonight.
Everything is okay.
Everything is cared for.
You can sleep now.
So let go.
Namaste,
Beautiful.
