Welcome to Meditation for Women,
A part of the Women's Meditation Network.
Welcome to the Meditation for Women podcast.
I'm Katie Kermitsos and I'm so happy that you're here with me today.
I see you.
You're driven,
Brilliant,
Loving.
You're circled around you,
Marveling at you and the life you've created.
Not out of envy,
But in deep respect,
Wondering how you accomplish so much or have what you have or make time for it all.
And you feel pretty good about yourself until you don't.
Until that inner critic inside of you speaks the words that you have become so intimate with throughout the years.
I am not enough.
The voice shows up in many different ways.
When you compare yourself to others and feel less than.
The anxious feeling inside your belly that makes you feel like you have to keep up.
The feeling that you have to live up to the expectations that you or others have for yourself.
A sinking feeling of wanting something so badly,
True love,
Financial freedom,
Success,
Notoriety,
The perfect body and harshly judging yourself for not having it yet.
You become an overachiever,
A pleaser,
Perhaps overtly successful,
Doing everything in your power to prove that voice wrong.
But I see you.
So today's meditation is your reminder that there is nothing for you to prove.
You are enough.
Not when you lose the weight.
Not when you become successful.
Not when you have the perfect love in your life.
Not when your kids are behaved.
Not when you get that promotion.
Not now.
Just as you are.
You are enough.
So let's begin by finding a comfortable place to sit or lie down.
When you get yourself settled,
Close your eyes and take that first deep cleansing breath in.
Cleaning your lungs,
Your belly,
And your entire body with new air.
When you get to the top of your breath,
Hold it for three seconds and then release.
And again,
Another deep breath in,
Putting all your attention on the cool air flowing throughout your body.
Breathing for three seconds at the top and then breathing it all out.
Now return your breath to normal.
Every time you breathe in,
Imagine your breath as a yellow light being called into your body.
After breathing this yellow light in with every breath,
You can see it coming into your nose and slowly filling up your lungs.
With every breath,
It goes deeper and deeper into your lungs,
Opening you up and helping you breathe cleaner and deeper.
You see that yellow light like a ray of sunshine spreading around your face and it softens your cheeks and your eyes.
Your yellow light spreads down your arms into your hands and eventually illuminates your fingers.
Breathing in,
You see your yellow light make its way into your stomach,
Down through your hips,
Slowly down each of your legs,
Covering your knees,
Your ankles,
Your feet,
And illuminating your toes.
Finally,
Your yellow light of sunshine breathes into your heart and as it tries to soften your heart with its love,
You recognize that there are dark gray holes on your heart,
Spots that don't belong there.
Gray that is keeping your heart from shining as bright as it's meant to.
This is where not enough lives.
And as your entire body is illuminated with a beautiful yellow sunshine,
You see that this gray has no place inside of you.
It is not you.
So you breathe in,
Calling in your sunshine to evict the gray,
Watching it color over those unwelcome patches of suffering.
And as your yellow light forces the gray from its spot,
Your out breath carries that gray away.
Out of your body and disintegrating into the air,
Powerless.
Again this happening over and over.
Your brilliant sunshine coming in with every breath in,
Finding those gray spots of not enough and breathing them out.
Breathing in yellow.
Breathing out gray.
And as you take an inventory of your body,
You see that you are alive.
Your sunshine.
Every part of you from the inside out,
You shine.
You are enough.
Feel your heart beat with love for you.
Thanking you for releasing the gray.
Because it knows who you truly are.
You are love.
And you are perfect.
Just the way you are.
Right now.
Now take a final deep breath in,
Watching your sunshine beam from every part of you.
And at the top of your breath,
Hold it for three seconds.
And then release.
Slowly wiggle your fingers and your toes.
Waking up your body to this beautiful present moment.
Grateful for the reminder that you are enough.
Thank you so much for joining me in today's guided meditation.
