Hello,
My friends.
My name is Kalyani,
And I invite you to join me for a short and sweet,
Powerful break from your day.
Each mindful minutes practice is a soft landing,
A gentle reorientation,
A way of remembering yourself in the midst of the chaos of everyday life,
Bringing peace to your mind and ease to your body.
As we regulate our nervous system together in small,
Bite-sized practices,
You deserve this time to feel better.
Today's topic is self-forgiveness and letting go.
Take a few long,
Slow breaths as together we push the pause button on our day,
Gazing down towards our lap,
Or if it's comfortable,
Inviting the eyes to close gently for just a few moments.
There is a quote from one mind dharma that says,
If your compassion does not include yourself,
It is incomplete.
Many of us hold ourselves to impossible standards,
Expecting perfection,
No room for failure or mistakes,
No grace for poor choices or bad decisions.
But mistakes may bring us some of our greatest lessons in our life.
Mistakes are forgivable.
We just have to have the courage to admit our faults.
For the next few moments,
Please treat yourself with the same kindness you offer to others.
Forgiveness is a beautiful gift.
It's not about forgetting or denying.
Instead,
It's about accepting the reality of what happened.
Together,
Let's work through the four R's of forgiveness,
Which are responsibility,
Remorse,
Repair,
And renewal.
We begin by taking responsibility,
Being accountable for our actions,
Owning up.
The next step is expressing remorse,
Genuine and real,
Feeling regret for our actions.
Then,
We work towards repairing the damage,
Restoring what was broken,
Making amends.
That's where many of us get stuck,
Especially when it applies to self-forgiveness.
But the last step is renewal,
Committing to change moving forward,
Resolving not to make the same mistake again,
And exploring personal growth.
There's no need to continue beating yourself up for mistakes.
When we know better,
We can do better.
So begin to imagine as you inhale,
You gather up shame and guilt.
And as you exhale,
You let it go.
You gather up the weight of responsibility and remorse and breathe it out.
With each inhale,
Feeling lighter and more open.
With each exhale,
Inviting old wounds to heal.
Allowing yourself to feel joy once more,
As you look forward to a future of peace.
Forgiveness is a sign of strength.
You cannot erase your past,
But you can certainly change your future.
Reclaiming your power now.
It is time to move on.
You have done your time.
Penance is over.
You are worthy of happiness.
You are worthy of love and self-forgiveness.
Come back to your breath now.
Allowing your breath to find its own comfortable rhythm.
Sending gratitude into your body and mind for the ability to pause the busyness of your day for this brief moment of awareness and release.
Have a great day,
My friends.
