Throat Chakra Healing With Yoga Nidra
This meditation is beneficial to open up our ability to communicate clearly and effectively. Sometimes we may hold back on what we want to say, which causes a blockage here. What you have to say holds value. Give yourself permission to speak your truth. Music: "Imagery" by Cryt-of-Insomnia and "This for Meditation" by TastyAudio. Image by Kien Virak from Pixabay.

Today we will begin a little different.
I want to start by teaching you a yogic breath that is beneficial for the throat chakra.
It is a combination of Ujjayi breath as we sigh out through the mouth.
You are welcome to just imagine that you are doing this breath,
But you will feel a greater release if you join in,
Actually doing the breath with us.
This breath will help to ease stress,
Get rid of toxins,
And stimulate your throat and chest area.
Before we begin,
Take a moment to tune into your throat area.
Notice if you tend to hold back what you want to say.
Do you feel anxious about speaking or communicating?
Do you have a hard time expressing your thoughts or speaking your truth?
With this breath,
We will break through whatever is blocking our throat chakra.
We will inhale through the nose,
Gather any stress and tension from the throat,
And loudly sigh them out.
Three more times,
Inhaling gather angry words,
Exhaling breathe them out,
Inhaling fear of speaking up,
And exhaling sigh it out.
Inhaling gather all blockages in the throat chakra and let them go.
Take some time to settle in,
Lying on the back,
Finding comfort,
Welcoming ease into the mind and body.
Invite the breath to slow down,
Breathing in and out of the nose,
Allowing the breath to become steady and easy.
No need to force the breath to change,
Simply allow the breath to fall in and out of the body without any effort at all.
Shifting your awareness to the physical body,
Welcoming the sensation of heaviness into your body,
Growing heavier and heavier with every exhalation.
Feel the body melting into the support beneath you.
I invite you to really let go,
Allowing yourself to melt and soften.
Now is the time to set your intention,
The sankhapa.
We could set an intention to release all blockages,
Or I allow my throat chakra to open,
Or any short positive intention that feels right for you in this moment.
Once you have decided what your sankhapa will be,
Repeat it three times silently,
With feeling.
Now begin sensing your body with the understanding that whatever you experience is perfect just as it is.
We will move quickly from one part to the next,
Simply feeling,
Sensing each part without judgment,
Without movement,
Beginning with our right side.

We will begin by bringing our attention back.
Imagine that we can breathe from the base of the spine through the center of the body,
Up to the crown of the head,
As if there is a clear channel for our breath to move through and just notice if there are any areas where you feel stuck.
Breathing up and exhaling down,
Total awareness of riding the wave of the breath up and down the spine.
Now shift your awareness to the front of the throat,
The fifth chakra.
Vishuddha,
Meaning purification.
Imagine a beautiful bright blue orb of energy here.
At first we will simply observe any sensations.
Total awareness,
No judgment.
Just notice anything that comes up for you as you explore the throat center.
Do you feel movement?
Or do you feel stuck?
Simply observe with curiosity.
Picture the blue light shining from your throat all the way out through your ears,
Helping you to listen to others and to hear your inner voice.
Communication means finding the balance between listening and speaking.
Wisdom is knowing when to speak and when to remain silent.
In fact,
Some say we have two ears and one mouth so we can listen more than we speak.
But the fifth chakra's purpose is communication.
And if we feel stuck here,
Then ask yourself,
Do I hold on to angry words?
Do I tend to gossip or lie?
All of these things can block the throat chakra.
So together we will use our breath again as a cleansing tool.
Breathing out all that has been blocking you here.
Inhale gather all fear of speaking.
Breathing out any self judgment.
Breathing in,
Gather angry words and let them go.
Combining movement and free expression back into the fifth chakra.
Exhaling your ability to speak truth.
Acknowledging the integrity of your words.
What you have to say matters.
Envision yourself using your voice for good.
Imagine speaking your truth to make a positive contribution to the world around you.
I hear my true self.
My inner guidance.
I know what is right for me.
I speak to myself and my body with loving words.
I hear with an open heart and speak kind words based in love and truth.
I hear my true self.
My inner guidance.
I know what is right for me.
I speak to myself and my body with loving words.
I hear with an open heart and speak kind words based in love and truth.
Now think back to the beginning of our practice.
Remembering your sankalpa,
Your intention and affirm that intention by repeating it three times silently with feeling and faith that it will come true.
Yoga nidra is now complete.
Aum shanti shanti shanti.
Meaning peace,
Peace,
Peace.
May we all know peace within.
May we all be surrounded by peace.
May we bring peace to all those we encounter.
In deep gratitude to each other and all of our teachers.
Namaste.
Please stay tuned for the next episode where we will explore the sixth chakra,
Our center of intuition and insight.
Thank you so much for all of your support.
Sleep well,
Friends.

Loved this one. I never thought of listening being tied to the throat chakra. I will be thinking about that. 💜
