Take some time to settle in,

Finding comfort for your body.

Check in with the temperature of your body.

As we relax,

Our core temperature will naturally come down,

So you may want to cover up with a sheet or a blanket to stay warm.

Shift and move in any way you need to,

To find the support and comfort you need,

So you can welcome ease into the mind and body.

Shifting your awareness to the physical body,

Notice your arms and legs,

Asking them to soften and let go of any muscular tension that they were holding onto.

Open the torso,

The shoulders,

Neck,

And head.

Begin to breathe out any emotions of your day.

Inhaling gather,

Exhaling through the mouth,

Let it all go.

Inhaling gather,

Exhaling let go.

Becoming the sensation of heaviness into your body.

Feel the body growing heavier and heavier with each exhalation.

Feel your body melting into the support beneath you.

I invite you to really let go,

Allowing yourself to melt and soften.

Begin to observe the rise and fall of the breath.

No need to force the breath to change.

The breath just naturally becomes steady and easy.

Allow the breath to fall in and out of the body without any effort at all.

Watching all of the movement the breath brings into the body.

Follow the breath in through the nose and become curious how far into the body does the breath travel.

There is the bottom of your relaxed deep breath.

Now is the time to set our intention.

Our sankalpa.

We could set an intention of I release all blockages.

Or I allow my second chakra to open and move freely.

Or any short positive intention that feels right for you in this moment.

Once you have decided what your sankalpa will be,

Repeat it three times silently with feeling knowing that you will bring it into your reality.

Yoga nidra works from the outside in to affect changes from the inside out.

This produces a deep relaxation and physical release from all tension,

Stress and negative ways of thinking,

Feeling and reacting.

Now begin sensing your body with the understanding that whatever you experience is perfect just as it is.

We will move quickly from one part to the next,

Simply feeling.

Meaning each part without judgment,

Without movement.

Shift your awareness to the space just below the belly button.

Our second chakra,

Svadhisana,

Known as one's own place.

Imagine a beautiful orange ball of energy here.

At first,

We will simply observe any sensations here.

Total awareness.

No judgment.

Just notice anything that comes up for you as you explore the space below the belly button.

Do you feel movement or do you feel stuck?

Simply observe with curiosity.

There are questions we can explore to gauge the second chakra's openness.

Ask yourself without judgment,

Am I prone to negative attitudes?

Do I chronically feel lonely or abandoned?

Do I sacrifice my own dreams and goals to get someone else's approval?

Do I do the right thing for everybody except myself?

In order to reopen the second chakra,

We need to tune in,

Being honest and open with ourselves.

The second chakra's purpose is movement,

Flow,

Creativity,

And reproduction.

This is where our ability to connect to others resides,

Where we connect to our own emotions and desires.

When we hold on too tightly,

We block our own creative flow.

This center is also our center of sexuality and sensuality.

It is connected to the water element.

So picture in your mind's eye now that we are resting on the bank of a beautiful river.

Open the blue sky above.

Watch the puffy white clouds passing by overhead.

Feel the warmth of the sun on our face as we enjoy the beauty of the day,

Watching the current of the water flowing past us.

Notice on the bank of the river is a boat waiting just for you.

Hop onto the boat and begin to row against the current,

Noticing right away the strength and power of the water.

Just like in life,

We have a choice.

We may have an idea of which direction we should go.

We may focus on achieving a certain goal or reaching a particular destination.

And it is easy for us to get stuck in that belief as if there is no other way.

We can battle the current,

Attempting to gain control over the water,

To do it our way and exhaust ourselves with all of the obstacles thrown in our path.

Or we can recognize that there could be many different ways to reach our goal,

Many different paths to find our passion.

There may even be something better waiting for you if you just let go.

Loosen the grip on controlling everything.

Let go and begin to enjoy the ride.

Open up to all possibilities instead of remaining stuck,

Instead of becoming rigid.

Maybe you can even acknowledge the need for rest,

Time to recoup and allow the current to take you on an adventure down the river.

As you travel down the river,

Notice the amazing view of the setting sun.

See the fiery orange light as the sun moves closer and closer to setting.

See the vibrant orange light reflecting off the water.

Feel this orange light penetrate into your body and begin to imagine you can shrink down smaller and smaller and smaller until you can travel with the breath into the body.

Arrive at the second chakra and begin to float comfortably in the middle of the pelvic bowl,

Midway between the navel and the pubic bone,

Tuning into the wave-like motion of the breath.

Allow the water to wash away all that no longer serves you.

Welcome the refreshing release of old stuck emotions and stories.

Sending gratitude to the water for washing away all old hurts.

Giving us a new perception.

Remembering we have the ability to create our life any way we want to.

Gently now bring the attention back to the breath.

Breathe from the base of the spine through the center of the body up to the top of the head.

As if there is a channel for the breath to move through.

And just notice if there are any areas where you may feel stuck.

Exploring without judgment.

Inhaling up and exhaling down.

Total awareness of riding the wave of the breath up and down the center of the body.

Feeling any tightness.

Finally,

Bring your awareness back into physical body.

Feel the weight of your body resting here.

Completely supported.

Some movement and freedom back into the second chakra.

Picture a beautiful fiery orange pinwheel of energy growing and strengthening with each inhalation.

Giving ourselves permission to safely explore healthy balance in all relationships.

Letting go of guilt.

Letting go of shame.

Both guilt and shame block the second chakra.

You have the right to fully feel your emotions.

It is important to follow your passion and your pleasures without shame.

To give and receive in balance.

Not giving too much of yourself and then becoming resentful.

Instead,

Fill yourself first so you can give freely,

Joyfully.

When the second chakra is balanced and healthy,

We experience the balance between work and ease.

We allow creativity to flow from us.

We allow our emotions to flow through us instead of holding tight to any emotion.

Ariding the highs and the lows of life,

But never getting stuck in either extreme.

Welcome creativity and joy once more.

What makes you happy?

Do more of that.

Follow your passion.

Follow your joy.

I have the right to feel good right now.

I release and let go of all pain associated with guilt.

I am moving on.

I have the right to feel good right now.

I release and let go of all pain associated with guilt.

I am moving on.

Thank you for joining me in opening and awakening the second chakra.

Please come back to this meditation anytime you feel stuck or rigid.

To reawaken your emotional intelligence and assist you in finding flow and ease once more.

With a balanced second chakra,

We become sensitive,

Intuitive,

And idealistic.

We can accept change and go with the flow.

We begin to follow our dreams and healthy desires.

We blossom into the person we are meant to be.

The nidra is now complete.

Om shanti shanti shanti.

Meaning peace,

Peace,

Peace.

May we all know peace within.

May we all be surrounded by peace.

May we bring peace to all those we encounter.

Please stay tuned for the next episode where we will explore the third chakra.
