This practice is inspired by the ancient system of medicine called Ayurveda, which focuses on balancing the elements. This meditation helps with an overabundance of vata, or air, which tends to manifest as anxiety, overwhelm, scattered thoughts, insomnia, and general stress. Connecting to the earth element by imagining deep roots connecting us to the earth can help soothe the nervous system and help us feel better.
