Welcome to this meditation for the full moon phase.

You can do this meditation within three days before or after any full moon,

But it may feel more powerful if you do it right on the full moon night.

Traditionally,

Full moons are harvest time.

This is the time to look at what has been building with the light of the moon,

To consider what we want to keep with us,

And to let go of what is no longer serving us.

It's a time to reflect on where we have been putting our energy,

And to allow certain things to come to completion.

Take a moment to get comfortable for your meditation.

This one can be done seated or lying down,

However you feel you can focus best.

Close your eyes if you like.

If you happen to be sitting outside with the moon in your view,

Please feel free to gaze upon the moon herself as we go through this meditation together.

Take a few deep breaths.

Begin to settle in your body,

And notice how you feel.

For some people,

The full moon can feel kind of manic and energetic,

Often with heightened emotions.

For others,

There's a bit of exhaustion and lethargy that can come with this intensifying energy.

I often think of it as a time when a light is cast in places that are normally dark,

So whatever we have not been dealing with tends to come up in this moment.

So begin at home,

In the body.

Notice what you feel,

Especially around your throat,

Your chest,

Your stomach,

Belly,

Pelvis.

What emotions do you notice in your body?

What thoughts,

Images,

Or memories are coming up for you in this moment?

You don't need to analyze them or do anything about them right now.

Now take a moment to cast your mind back over the last couple of weeks,

The last moon cycle.

What have you been building in your life?

Where have you been putting your energy,

Primarily?

What have been your priorities?

What have you spent most of your time doing?

Notice how you feel as you consider these questions.

What emotions are coming up?

Do you feel good about what you've been doing with your energy?

Do you feel that your work is bearing fruit?

Or are you frustrated,

Exhausted?

Does it feel right to you to think back on the choices you've been making in your life?

There's no need to judge yourself right now.

It's enough to simply notice how you feel.

The full moon is a time to acknowledge what you've been building.

If there are successes,

If there are places that you feel glad about,

If there is fruit that has been created by the work you've done,

Take a moment to sit with that,

To feel that sensation of success or hope or satisfaction.

And also consider the places where you've felt that energy has been spent but has not been returned to you.

Where is it time to clear the weeds?

To garden the choices you've been making?

Consider what it might be time to let go of.

Now begin to deepen your breath.

Focus on your exhales,

And you might,

If you like,

Exhale out your mouth.

If you feel comfortable,

Run your hands over your body as if you were cleansing your skin with water.

Clear the field around your body with your hands,

And as you exhale,

Shake your hands onto the earth.

The feeling here is that you are rinsing away any residue of whatever it is that you might want to clear from your body with the clarifying,

Purifying light of the full moon.

You don't need to think too hard about what these things might be.

You don't even need to know what they are exactly.

Perhaps it's old relationships,

Old pain or emotions,

Old hopes,

Frustrating experiences,

Residue from injuries or something that is healing in your body.

It could be anything.

You don't need to know what it is.

Just imagine that you're cleansing whatever is not needed from your energetic field,

And let it go into the earth below you.

It's as if you're taking a moon bath.

Don't worry about what this looks like,

Or what exactly your hands are doing.

The intention is what matters.

The movement can just be whatever feels right for you.

Take your time in your moon bath.

Enjoy it as long as you need to.

When this feels complete to you,

Take a moment to sit with the feeling of having cleansed your body of whatever energy is not serving you in this moon cycle.

Allow for the energy of the full moon to continue to purify whatever is not healthful or helpful this particular moon cycle.

When you feel ready,

You may like to close your meditation by bringing your hands together in front of your heart,

Or perhaps lifting your hands up to the sky.

In your own words,

Offer a thank you to the moon for helping you to release whatever it is you do not need.

For example,

You could say something like,

Thank you moon for cleansing my energy today and helping me to release what I do not need.

Thank you for listening,

And happy full moon.

I love Julie Peters. Nice voice, good words, and I like that she does not use music. I use her sleep meditation frequently as of recently and find it to be my favorite.
