Hi,
It's Jordana here,
And this is a meditation for being really ready for your day,
No matter what the night brought you,
No matter how your sleep went.
Today I'm inspired by a sleep tracking device that I started using,
And it shares a readiness score.
I found that several mornings in a row,
I was waking up and looking at my readiness score to tell me how ready I was for the day.
And if it was high,
I was happy,
And if it was below what I expected,
I felt some self-doubt.
And so,
I want to take this concept into our own hands here,
Because how ready we are is really based on our minds.
And so,
The practice here will be to shift our readiness from wherever we feel we are,
With no matter what has happened,
To a place of 100.
Are you ready?
Find a way to be comfortable,
And let's get started.
Take a long breath in through your nose,
Fill up across the belly,
Expand the ribcage,
And then exhale slow,
Release it out of your mouth.
And then two more like that,
We're breathing in to take in new energy.
And to start this practice,
Exhale slow out of your mouth,
And one more,
Breathe in long and full,
And then release the breath slowly landing in the here and now.
I want you to check in internally,
Scanning your body,
Noticing how your body feels without trying to change anything.
There might be tension or tightness.
There might be a feeling of okayness.
You can extend this up to your mind,
Check in with how your mind is feeling.
Maybe there's even a color associated with the feeling of the mind,
Just noting what comes up when I say that.
Does the mind feel relatively clear,
Or are there clouds?
And in this moment,
How ready do you feel for the day ahead?
If you gave yourself your own readiness score between one and 100,
Where does that land?
And whatever that number is,
Just letting it be okay,
No problem.
And taking another long breath in through the nose,
Fill up.
I don't want you to hold this breath at the top,
Hold it for a moment,
But relax the body,
Soften the shoulders,
Soften the face,
Holding the breath.
When you let go of the breath,
I want you to let go of the number,
Let go of the need to change anything,
And just allow yourself to be in three,
Two,
One.
And then come to your natural breath.
You might place one hand on the belly and one hand on the heart.
Really coming into contact with your body supports the presencing here and now.
Feeling the life force of breath move through you,
And letting the breath be a cleansing mechanism to cleanse the energy of whatever has been,
Even any judgments of good,
Bad,
Or okay,
Cleansed by the breath.
And then I'd like you to imagine that underneath your hand at your belly,
There's an inner sun right at the space of the diaphragm.
And as you breathe in,
This inner sun begins to shine and brighten.
And as you breathe out,
It's rays expand up to the heart,
Your shoulders,
Your arms,
And down to your hips,
Your legs,
And your feet.
And so as you breathe,
Creating this inner sunlight,
A natural environment within which you can thrive.
You might even imagine that as you breathe and create this inner sun,
You can be transported to your favorite place to vacation.
It could be a place that you know,
Or it could be a place that you even just start to imagine now,
Where everything feels just a little bit easier.
The breeze is the perfect temperature on your skin.
And every breath feels like you're landing in the most comfortable seat,
Relaxing,
But energizing your body.
And maybe you can even sense some excitement,
Some curious anticipation for what good this day can bring.
Just noticing if that can arise within you.
And if you need a little bit more power,
Imagine that inner sun growing brighter and brighter,
And brightening across any areas of doubt,
Or worry,
Helping to dissolve any mental fog or internal blocks.
And they don't have to go away completely.
Simply a willingness to surrender what doesn't serve to the inner sun.
This notion of,
I don't have to do it all on my own.
There is a force within me and around me that I can tap into that wants to support me,
That wants what's best for me.
That wants my readiness for whatever is to come,
To move from wherever it is to 100.
Taking a few breaths to sense that,
To open to that possibility.
And then welcoming these energies.
Yes,
I am ready.
I'm ready to welcome the energy of readiness,
Of possibility,
Of curious excitement for what today may bring.
That's beyond what I could imagine.
That is joyful delight,
Perhaps that I didn't know was possible.
I am ready for today to show me.
Show me what is meant for me.
Take another long breath in through the nose,
Fill up.
Hold the breath softly,
Gentle smile across the face.
And then exhale,
Release.
And I'd like you to imagine that you can move the needle from wherever it is on the dial,
Wherever it has been,
That readiness score.
It goes up,
Up,
Up,
Up until it hits 100.
Watch that number rise.
And as you do,
Let it feel good.
You can do this.
And once you have arrived at 100,
I want you to widen that smile across your face because here we are,
And yes,
We can.
This is the energy that you get to bring to this day.
Whatever may come today,
Repeating in your mind,
I am ready.
I am open.
I am willing to see beyond what I have been able to see.
Show me what's meant for me today.
I can do this.
I've got this.
We'll take one last long power breath here.
Breathe in the biggest breath you've taken all day.
This is new,
Fresh energy of everything you need,
Full readiness score.
Breathe it in,
Fill up,
And hold.
And then sip in a little bit more.
You can take in even more of this new,
Fresh,
Incredible energy,
Readiness 100.
Holding this breath,
Maybe even smiling with holding this breath,
Relaxing the shoulders,
But holding the breath.
And then open the mouth.
Let it go.
Land in this body,
Fully ready,
Able,
And willing.
This day is now yours.
