Find a comfortable place to rest.
You can lie down or sit with your back supported.
Let your hands rest softly by your sides or in your lap.
Close your eyes.
Take a long,
Slow breath through your nose and out through your mouth with a sigh.
You've arrived.
There's nothing you need to do or achieve in these next few minutes.
This is a time to rest,
Awake,
Aware,
And deeply at ease.
Begin to feel the weight of your body supported by the surface beneath you.
Feel the back of your head,
Your shoulders,
Your hips,
Your heels,
All relaxing into gravity's gentle pull.
Now bring awareness to your face.
Soften your eyes.
Unclench your jaw.
And let your shoulders drop.
Allow your belly to rise and fall naturally with each breath.
With every exhale,
A small wave of release.
You're letting go.
Now turn your attention to your breath.
See if you can slow down your breathing,
Even 20 or 25%.
Imagine each inhale as a gentle reset,
Restoring calm and clarity.
And each exhale,
Clearing tension,
Releasing thought and effort.
And now let your mind begin to drift.
You can let thoughts appear,
And perhaps see them as clouds passing through an open sky.
You don't need to chase or fix them.
You can simply notice them as the clouds passing through the sky.
And you can allow yourself to enter this state.
Here,
Where you are awake,
But not asleep.
A place where the nervous system resets.
The body repairs.
The mind rests in stillness.
And even just 5% more still than moments before.
Even just these few minutes can restore so much lost rest.
So I invite you to either continue on your own,
Or if you'd like to come back with me,
Begin to bring a bit more awareness to your breath.
You can lengthen the breath.
And begin to notice your body.
Perhaps there's a feeling of lightness.
A feeling of being refreshed.
Take a long breath in.
Exhale fully.
As you're ready,
If your eyes are closed,
Gently blink them open.
Thank you for giving yourself this gift.
And come back to this any time throughout the day.
Until then,
Be well.
