Welcome to your meditation.
There is a natural reciprocity between humans and trees that occurs through the breath.
We breathe out carbon dioxide,
Which the trees take in to convert into energy.
And the trees release oxygen.
Which we breathe in to energize our own bodies.
This natural interconnectedness is always present.
That is so easily forgotten as we go about our busy days.
In this meditation,
You will reconnect with your natural reciprocity with the tree through breathing with it.
You can do this meditation sitting next to a physical tree.
Or you can imagine that you're sitting by a tree.
Wherever you are,
Begin by making yourself comfortable.
Taking any support that you need for yourself to be able to sit comfortably and without distraction.
And when you're ready.
Gently close your eyes.
Begin by bringing your awareness to your breath.
Just watch your natural breath as it's flowing today.
Notice how it's moving.
Is it fast or slow?
Is it shallow or deep?
Where in your body does it flow to?
Follow each inhalation and exhalation as closely as you can.
Watch your lungs expanding as the breath flows in.
And contracting as the breath flows out.
With every breath in,
Fresh oxygen is carried into your body.
And with that breath comes Prana.
Life force energy.
Welcome the oxygen.
Welcome to Prana.
With every inhalation.
Every inhalation is a sacred intake of life force.
Now observe the exhalation.
Watch the breath flowing out.
With each exhalation,
Carbon dioxide is carried out of the body.
The body is freed of what it no longer needs.
Acknowledge that carbon dioxide.
Flowing out of your body with every breath.
Your body releasing and purifying.
With every exhalation.
Now bring your awareness to your tree.
The tree that you're sitting with,
Or the tree that is present in your imagination right now.
Take a moment to acknowledge the different aspects of that truth.
What kind of trees?
What is its trunk line?
What season is it in right now?
Is the tree leafy?
Butting.
Fritting.
Call back.
Take some time to notice the different elements of the tree.
And now come back to your breath.
As you breathe,
The tree is breathing with you.
The oxygen that you breathe in is being released by the truth.
And the carbon dioxide that you breathe out is being absorbed by the tree.
Become aware of this cycle.
Of this reciprocity.
You breathe in oxygen.
The tree releases oxygen.
You breathe out carbon dioxide.
The tree absorbs carbon dioxide.
Remain here.
Observing the cycle of breath with the tree.
And now,
Very gently.

Invite your tree to share any wisdom it has for you today.
Perhaps some inspiration.
Insight or healing.
There's no need to force anything to happen.
Just quietly listen.
And allow the tree to communicate with you.
However that communication comes.
Has a message.
A vision.
A feeling.
Quietly listen and receive.
And take a moment now to thank your tree for the connection.
Through the communication.
Very gently begin to end your meditation.
Become aware of any sounds that are present in the space around you.
Feel into the feeling of your body sitting on the surface beneath you.
And start to make some small movements with your fingers and your toes.
With your ankles and your wrists.
And when you're ready.
Very slowly open your eyes.
