Recovery From Burnout In Ten Days

With Jay Chodagam

Are you finding yourself working extra hard, feeling overwhelmed, defeated or exhausted? No matter how hard you try, you can’t seem to catch up. Are you developing a negative attitude about your work, detachment and lack of accomplishment? Chances are you are experiencing burnout. It is important to find ways to prevent or cope with burnout as studies suggest that if these symptoms are left untreated they can increase your risk of obesity and cardiovascular disease. This 10-day course is a practical tool to help with burnout and overwhelm. I will teach you how to set healthy boundaries, develop core skills, and make choices that prioritize your well-being. By the end of the 10 sessions, you will have tools that will help you wind down, build immunity, and create a state from which you are more resilient with whatever life throws at you.

Lesson 1

Lesson 2

Refill Your Tea Cup

Lesson 3

What Ultimately Matters

In the stress and complexity of our lives, we may forget our deepest intentions. But when people come to the end of their lives and look back, the questions that they most often ask are not usually, “How much is in my bank account?” or “How many books did I write?” or “What did I build?” or the like. If you have the privilege of being with a person who is conscious at the time of his or her death, you find the questions such a person asks are very simple, “Did I love well?” “Did I live fully?” “Did I learn to let go?”

Lesson 4

Burn Up

Even the strongest shoulders can only bear so much. Actually burnout is the wrong word. It’s burn up. That’s what you’re doing by putting your body in chronic stress. You are not required to set yourself on fire to keep other people warm.

Lesson 5

Stress is the trash of modern life

Stress is the trash of modern life. We all generate it, but if you don’t dispose of it properly, it will pile up and overtake your life. Balance is not better time management, but better boundary management. Balance means making choices and enjoying those choices.

Lesson 6

Healthy Boundaries

If you are feeling overwhelmed, it may be because you have outstretched your personal boundaries. You may have forgotten that true happiness comes from living an authentic life. An authentic life fueled with a sense of purpose and balance.

Lesson 7

Responsibility For Yourself

Any time you feel emotionally uncomfortable, stressed or negative in any way, it's a sign you are avoiding your responsibility for yourself. It is a sign that we have some learning to do. Burnout is nature’s way of telling you you’ve been going through the motions your soul has departed.

Lesson 8

Energy is a Currency

Your energy is currency. Spend it well. Friendly reminder that ‘doing your best’ does not mean working yourself to the point of a mental breakdown.

Lesson 9

Power to Discern

When you believe everything is an emergency, you’ll end up overwhelmed with stress. Know the difference between urgent and important. Don’t try to force yourself to do the impossible.

Lesson 10

Unplugged

Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes… including you. If you don’t have time for a break, you definitely need a break! Just because you take breaks doesn’t mean you’re broken.
