Radio strong wind saying,
Welcome,
So glad that you're here.
Let's be comfortable,
If possible.
Maybe inviting an okayness with what's not comfortable,
Really to welcome it all.
To welcome what's here,
And sometimes what feels uneasy has wisdom in it,
And sometimes what feels uneasy is just an old habit or wound.
But either way,
Welcome.
Not as the only thing,
But as part of what's here.
And if we feel welcome also to include posture as an important factor in accessing a deeper mind.
For some people,
Movement might be the way to get in to ourselves,
Into life.
For some people,
Stillness in this moment.
And in stillness,
It could be lying down or sitting,
Leaning against the wall,
Resting into a hammock or a couch,
Or the ground,
The grass,
A tree.
And maybe as we're getting settled,
Just a sense of this ground and this air that we're resting in,
That we are here in,
Is old.
It's been around.
It's shared.
And we haven't made it with our hands,
But we have participated in this ground and this air for all the years of our lives.
To feel that kind of welcome,
That we haven't made it,
But we have participated in it all along.
There's no other way to be here.
We've joined.
We've joined life.
And even coming into the body and the way that the breath might be opening and closing different parts of your body by itself.
We can start to feel as we welcome our bodies and then realize that maybe it's we who are welcome in our bodies.
That our bodies also are something we haven't made with our hands,
But we do participate in,
And that are part of this long,
Lineager stream of form.
A kind of heartbreakingly strange and wondrous form that we are in.
Soft and hard and cool and warm and heavy and light and moving and still.
And wet and dry.
Electrical.
Streaming and quiet.
Powerful and vulnerable,
This form.
That we are in.
Just listening and feeling this body for a little while,
If you wish.
And feeling,
If you wish,
Where you are divided in your body.
Body-mind.
Where there might be a feeling of the head as being something else and the body something else.
Or where the mind is against the body,
Doesn't like something.
Thinks of different parts of the body as lesser and greater.
Those belief systems mapped on our bodies,
Just feeling where there is some dividedness.
Or an overemphasis here and an absence or underemphasis there,
Just feeling all of that in this whole field of body.
Letting it all be.
Like a field of flowers and grass that's just allowed to live for a while and we find out what comes up when we don't cut it back.
We let it be.
Leaving room for it all.
If you wish,
If that feels appropriate to you.
Including the dividedness.
The divisions,
Just as one more aspect,
One more thing we can feel.
Ah,
That privileging of the head over the feet or the belly.
And just feeling that.
Or that feeling of me where I really am as a person is somewhere up here maybe.
This matters more than my back.
Just feeling that map or sense.
As just one more thing that we can feel as we can also feel our skin in the air,
The clothing,
The ground.
And then perhaps a longer out-breath.
As we can let it all be here,
Welcome everything and let ourselves be welcome in everything.
We can also let go.
With an out-breath.
And if anywhere along the way you notice a kind of key or core belief system or sense of something missing or wrong that might drive you,
That might feel true.
But then when we just feel it as just another feeling,
We welcome it,
But not as all there is.
Just one more thing.
That feeling of not quite rightness,
Got to get it rightness.
Just feeling that.
As just another feeling.
Feeling like a texture in the body-mind rather than just an emotion.
So if you come up against or across something that feels like a core or main kind of driver.
Just feeling that as one other feeling,
One of the things that can be felt.
A part of a map that's not the same as the reality.
So even my sense of myself is just something that I can sense.
It doesn't necessarily mean that's what I am.
And my sense of my past is just something I can sense.
It might not be accurate.
My sense of my future is just something I could tune into and feel.
As I can also feel my knees and the temperatures of the air.
And then maybe resting back.
Letting go for a while of trying anything.
Not like pressing into your back but allowing yourself to feel an alignment and center of gravity that's less about doing anything.
And more about being already welcome here as you are.
Feeling the back of your body if you like.
As if you're resting back into a comfortable,
Beloved place.
A kind of basket of acceptance or love.
Or just eernth or welcome.
Letting the feeling and aliveness of your back kind of wake up a little bit.
Maybe take up a little more space.
Maybe kind of merge a little bit with the air or the ground.
Life streaming through your back.
The sensations of your back like a stream.
Through your awareness.
As if we would stand in a river and let the water flow past us,
Letting this moment and these sensations flow through.
Just now.
Just this moment.
Velvety or warm or cool or heavy or light sensations in the back.
Perhaps letting your back really enjoy breathing,
Being breathed.
With no hurry to get anywhere with the breath.
And if you wish,
Just staying with your back,
Letting your back be received.
In your awareness as your back also receives warmth,
Coolness,
Movements of breath,
Texture,
Presence.
Or if you find yourself kind of gravitating somewhere else in your body or to sound or color or a word.
Whatever is a good center of gravity for your attention.
What feels more delightful or delicious to you as well as possible.
To really stay with.
Like a paper airplane or surfing a wave and then really all the way up to the shore.
Staying somewhere.
For a while.
Not needing to do anything for a while.
As if you're just resting your head on the ground or on your own lap,
The lap of life for a while.
Receiving the moment.
Fully.
You.
May there be peace on this earth.
