Lesson 8
Cultivating Change
Lesson 8 - Now that you've learned how to do the exercise, we'll move on to more long-term practice. We discuss how this process of changing dreams from bad to good is a natural part of the healing process. Also, we cover the protocol for the practice:
1. Jot down a nightmare of low to moderate intensity (or if you want, just write a title since you know what the nightmare involves).
2. Change the dream to something new in any way you wish.
3. Make the new dream pleasant or neutral… something that wouldn’t bother you at all.
Practice rehearsing that new dream 1 - 30 minutes PER DAY for 4 days in a row, ignore the other dreams that come up during this time.
4. After the 4 days if you want to change another dream, go ahead and move on to that one. Limit to working with only 1-2 dreams per week.
Note: This is rehearsal; conditioning a new habit, let the repetition work for you on one dream at a time. Don’t jump around from dream to dream too fast.
