Yoga Nidrā For Determination
A script I wrote with an Amrit inspiration to awaken determination. We begin with settling-ascending/descending breaths. Rotation of consciousness starts at the soles of the feet, then to the palms of the hands, alternating back and forth. Breathing is from the crown to the pelvic floor. Next, we awaken opposites of determination and ambitionless. The visualization portion enters a redwood tree and climbs a rock wall. Enjoy! If you like my offering and vibe, please follow me, rate me or comment!

Visualize your body renewed and revitalized with new life And with every breath out,
Your body and mind enter deeper levels of stillness and silence And releasing the breath Bring your total attention to the pulsating energy field felt in the forms of sensations in your body And we'll practice awakening to the experience of opposites in mind and body and remaining neutral As you awaken the experience of being determined Maybe a memory arises,
Determined Feel it in your body,
Determined And now the opposite,
Ambitionless Remember the time when there was no ambition Feel it in your body,
Ambitionless And now back to determined Feeling the experience of determined mind,
Body,
Heart determined And now ambitionless Awaken the feeling of ambitionless in the mind,
In the body and in the heart,
Ambitionless Bring your attention to the eyebrow center And drop into the deepest state of stillness,
Tranquility and peace at the eyebrow center As if gazing at a screen behind the forehead,
Behind the eyes Notice infinite space And then using your conception,
The capabilities of visualization and imagination Picture the scene that I name not only in mind,
But with complete feeling See yourself standing in a forest of redwood trees Just so tall and in front of you,
The biggest redwood you've ever seen,
Not only in height,
But in width Look to the sky to see the branches of the redwood tree,
It reaches so high that you can barely see the trunks or the leaves of the tree You put your hand on the bark,
It feels rough and textured You notice the unique patterns on the trunk You trace your fingers on the patterns in the bark as if studying the story of the tree As if to feel its soul In admiration of sensing the tree,
With your hand on its trunk you exhale and underneath your hand a door appears The door opens in the tree and you walk in Inside,
A majestic place,
Streams of sparkling iridescent water,
The walls around you rise to the sky to infinity The air is cool and as you walk along the stream,
Fireflies twinkle around you The stream ends and in front of you is a rock wall Some rocks like smooth pebbles,
Some jagged,
You decide that you're going to climb the wall You close your eyes and visualize the journey up before you even try You don't know how high it goes As you start to prepare you start to stretch your body,
Your wrists,
Your hands and shoulders,
You shake and bounce Your feet step on the rock ledges and all of a sudden you have infinite energy and determination In your mind you can see every rock that your fingers and your toes will go to and you are confident to accomplish your goal In no time you ascend to reach the top of the rock wall and you are rewarded by the most amazing nature scene you have ever gazed upon Use your imagination What do you see?
What are the colors?
The shapes?
How does this nature scene make you feel?
There's no limit to your imagination You feel proud for accomplishing your goal and your spirit feels free from all limitations You are the emissary of light and love Carry it with you wherever you go and to everyone you meet Now you have prepared the base from where you can carry out interactions with life and interpersonal relationships with the integrative power of love and the source within You are the emissary of light and your spirit feels free from all limitations You are the emissary of light and your spirit feels free from all limitations Feeling the stillness and emptiness of body,
Mind and heart You awaken to the light and the jewel of the heart,
The flower of your heart You are the emissary of light and your spirit feels free from all limitations Feeling your body lying on the floor Feeling the support of the earth,
The inner ear expands and you start to listen to sounds in the room around you Sounds that may seem distant,
Sounds that may seem close and there's no rush you can stay resting Some of you may be ready to begin to deepen your breath,
Otherwise breath is moving,
Filling the body with life And maybe the body starts to move a little,
Fingers,
Toes,
You can stretch or just roll to the right in a fetal position,
There's no rush,
You can stay resting if you'd like Slowly making your way up to seated,
We're going to do a little tapping on the soles of our feet And so you can just kind of slap with your fingertips,
Palms,
Breathing out the mouth,
Just bringing energy to the roots You can also join all your fingers together in what I call a b-can and tap that way Breathing out the mouth,
Good,
Yeah and then I like to tap the face a little bit just bringing life so I start with like cheekbones,
Jaw,
With like a little flap with the fingertips and let the jaw unhinge,
Exhale out the mouth And then I go above the eyes so the fingers are above the eyebrows,
Temples,
Exhale out the mouth and then you can do top of head,
Back of head,
Neck,
Breath in Exhale,
Release the hands,
Feeling and then gather the hands to the heart So we'll close with om,
First exhale,
Then breath in And we'll chant om mane padme hum,
It's the mantra for compassion or it's also the jewel of the lotus of the heart So just join me when you're ready Om mane padme hum,
It's the mantra for compassion or it's also the jewel of the lotus of the heart Last one,
Inhale Hands in prayer,
Thumbs to the eyebrows center honoring the tradition of yoga In the sacred space shared we say namaste And then right hand to heart,
Left hand on top,
You cross your right thumb on top and spread the fingers,
The heart wings,
The eagle mudra we say j praise your practice May you follow the flow that guides you,
May it be spiritual or your life,
May you follow the flow that guides you,
May it be organic,
May it be effortless,
May it be full of grace,
We say jayofa,
Jayofa
