Welcome.

Tomorrow is a new day and now it's time to slow down and focus on your homework to help prepare you for tomorrow.

Remember,

You can pause this meditation whenever you like.

Please take a big breath in and out.

Let's make sure you're ready to start your homework so that you feel comfortable.

Please find a quiet place that you can relax,

Preferably with an open window to access natural light and fresh air.

Have a glass of water beside you and drink whenever you need to.

Have all your books,

Extra paper,

Pencils,

Eraser,

And whatever technology you have or need beside you.

Take a big breath in and out.

When you're ready,

Please close your eyes.

Together,

Let's remember why homework is important,

Its purpose,

And what to do if you need help,

And the importance of helping others.

Take a big breath in and out.

Remember,

The reason why homework is important is because doing your homework is practice for solving different kinds of problems that one day will help you solve problems for lots of people in your life,

Including you.

Helping others to solve their problems will make you feel good and give you confidence.

Take a big breath in and out.

The purpose for homework is to remind you that working on something every day,

Like homework,

Is the key to getting better at anything you decide to do.

This is called discipline,

And discipline is the key to achieving anything,

So long as you never give up and accept that learning from your mistakes is okay.

Take a big breath in and out.

If the success of homework isn't coming easily to you,

Please ask for help right away.

Ask your teachers,

Your parents,

Your tutors,

Your friends,

In a respectful and simple way,

Even when it's uncomfortable.

Just say,

Excuse me please,

I'm still learning and I would appreciate your help.

Is that okay?

Someone eventually will help you if you keep asking calmly and respectfully.

Take a big breath in and out.

If homework is easy for you,

Ask your parents and teachers to introduce you to someone who needs your help for 15 minutes after school,

Up to three times a week,

And help them alongside your teacher as best as you can.

This will teach you how to be patient and cooperate easily with people,

As well as make your parents very proud of you.

Take another big breath in and out.

Finally,

It's time to relax and say our thank yous to remind us to appreciate life and remind us how lucky we are.

Are you ready?

Take another big breath in and out.

Very quietly,

Please repeat after me.

Thank you for my home that gives me a place to live.

Thank you for the food I eat that feeds me.

Thank you for my friends,

My family,

And my teachers who care for me.

Thank you for my parents who love me.

Thank you for my wonderful life.

Please take one last big breath in and out,

And as you slowly open your eyes,

Let me leave you with these words.

It's a great day to be alive.

Smile.

It's homework time.
