Lyz Cooper has been working with therapeutic sound and music since 1994 and is internationally recognised for her pioneering work in sound-based wellbeing, reflective practice, and education. She is the founder of The British Academy of Sound Therapy (BAST), established in 2000 and the first sound therapy training school to offer formal qualifications in sound therapy. Lyz is also a published author and co-founder of the International Therapeutic Sound Association, supporting professional standards and research-informed practice worldwide. Lyz’s work bridges science, sound, and self-awareness. Drawing on contemporary neuroscience, psychology, and decades of clinical and educational experience, she continues to develop evidence-informed ways of working with sound and music to support nervous system regulation, deep rest, reflection, and emotional processing. LifeSonics is Lyz’s music-medicine platform — a curated body of sound works designed as sonic nourishment for modern life. Often described as sonic vitamins, LifeSonics pieces are created to be used intentionally: to support rest, restore balance, encourage presence, and gently guide listeners into restorative states of consciousness. Each LifeSonics composition is crafted with professional judgement, clarity of purpose, and deep respect for the listener’s inner experience — bringing together science, spirituality, sound, and music as practical tools for wellbeing.

Beyond brilliant... Ahhhh. I SO loved this one. Immersive, expansive, all-absorptive sonic goodness. Transportive to the max. If your noggin’ isn’t moved by this piece of bespoke wonderment, I’d definitely either invest in better headphones, or go get that hearing checked. 🙉

This course is a true winner…It was so enjoyable and illuminating that I intend to take it all over again. The music+sound pieces constructed so artfully for each session are simply out of this world. Just •so• phenomenal. Throughout, and without fail, Lyz is innovative, nurturing, pragmatic, explicatory, and excels at each aspect of her course. An ideal example of how this course excels in its discreet, episodic goals: I had just today completed day 28 of the I.T. mid-year reset challenge. The selected instructor attempted to guide listeners through a ‘box breathing’ exercise. It didn’t go as well as intended, based on voluminous feedback. Therafter, I pulled up and finished Lyz’s course by completing session 10–a fine wrap-up in which she also introduces a more complex poly-vagal breathing technique. She guided us so perfectly in that undertaking that I found myself continuing it automatically after just a brief instruction, with zero difficulty but with all the benefits. Her count—and when and how she allows her voice prompts to diminish and then blend into the sonic swirl was masterful. The effect? Near magic. THAT is how good she, and this course overall, truly is.😊🙌🏼🙏🏼

Such a valuable course! I rushed a bit with it, since I only had a week of Premium membership for free, plus- I had a cold but, I know that my notes and having a go will stick with me and helps me practice regularly. It has been a skill developed early in me, and then, through educational/ cultural systems not encouraging it, I rose lots of bareers around singing. Thank you so much, Lyz, for bringing the historical perspective of singing, and how impactful and bonding it is when you sing in a group 🙏🏽✨️🎵💚💛

I highly recommend this course. I learned a different exercises for helping me manage my anxiety. Also, I’ve been applying the techniques into my day to day.
