Hello and welcome to this grounding root chakra meditation.
My name is Amy Patti and I will be your guide.
Thank you so much for joining me today.
Settle into a comfortable seat and allow your eyes to come to close.
And take a moment to place your hands so they could be resting over your lap or on your thighs.
And just consider if you'd like your palms to be turned up or down.
Just mindfully placing your hands in a position that's really comfortable for you.
And then connect with your breath.
Take a deep breath in.
And as you breathe out slowly,
Invite your body to relax.
Do that again.
Take a nice deep breath in through the nose.
And as you slowly breathe out,
Softening your mind.
Another full breath in.
Exhaling,
Letting go of whatever you were doing right before this meditation.
And one more deep breath.
Breathe in.
Exhaling,
Letting go of what's to come.
Whatever you have planned for the rest of your day after this meditation,
Just allowing that to release.
And then just begin to feel your body and noticing just how having your body in this particular shape,
However you've chosen to sit for this meditation,
Just feeling the shape of your body.
Letting your awareness really take in your entire body.
And just beginning to soften,
Letting the muscles relax.
The jaw releases.
Shoulders drop.
And begin to shift your attention down into your hips,
Your pelvis.
Shifting your attention down to the tip of your tailbone,
Into your seat,
Your legs,
Your feet.
Feeling the foundation of your body.
The root chakra is an energetic center located at the base of your spine.
This chakra helps us feel grounded in our body and connected to the earth.
When this chakra is balanced,
We feel stable,
Secure.
We feel supported and a deep sense of self-worth.
So stay tuned in right now to this lower half of your body.
Feeling into your seat,
Feeling into your pelvis,
Your legs,
And feet.
Specifically notice the parts of your body that are in contact with the floor or whatever you're sitting on.
Just noticing those parts of your body.
Breathing into those parts of your body.
And when you exhale,
Allow those parts of your body to really lean into the support beneath them.
Beginning to feel the weight of your body releasing with gravity.
And really sensing into the support beneath you,
Sensing whether or not this support feels supportive.
Does the floor or the chair,
Whatever you're sitting on,
Does it feel sturdy?
Does it feel stable?
Can you let go into it?
Can you allow your body to really be held by the support beneath it?
As you're grounding your energy in this way,
Reconnect with your breath.
And again,
Just feel the breath moving down into the lower half of your body.
It's as if your inhalation can touch the tip of your tailbone and your exhalation can travel down through the legs into the soles of your feet.
Breathing in to the tip of your tailbone,
The base of your spine.
Exhaling,
Imagining the breath flowing down through the legs and out through the soles of your feet.
Beginning to ground yourself in this way.
Breathing into the base of your spine where the root chakra exists.
And letting that earthy energy move through the legs,
Through the feet,
Down into the floor,
Into the earth.
As your body becomes deeply grounded,
Allow any tension in the shoulders,
Any stress in your organs,
Any tension in the body to just drain out through the foundation of you.
Anything that's no longer serving you,
Letting it go.
Letting it release down into the earth where it can be transmuted and transformed into something usable,
Something positive.
Taking a few more grounding breaths in this way.
Breathing out of your head into your body,
Connecting to the earth beneath you.
Invite your exhalations to slow down even more.
Breathing out for as long as you can without tension,
Without strain.
Now begin to spread your awareness out to your entire body.
Letting this stable,
Grounded energy that you've cultivated through the lower half of your body,
Allow that energy to circulate into your torso,
Your arms,
Your hands.
Letting this earthy energy move up into the neck and the head.
And just noticing when your root chakra is open and balanced,
When your energy is grounded,
When your body is grounded and connected to the earth,
Just noticing how this feels to you.
Does it make you feel calm and relaxed?
Does it make you feel anxious?
Does it make you feel emotional?
Does it make you feel safe?
When you invite yourself to become grounded in this moment,
How do you feel?
Becoming grounded is a unique experience and it can bring up different sensations,
Different emotions,
Different thoughts even for every person in a very different way.
So allow yourself to receive the medicine from your root chakra,
From grounding your energy,
Receiving your own personalized medicine.
Let yourself breathe that in.
And to seal in this state of being,
This specific rooted,
Grounded energy,
You can draw your palms to touch at the front of your chest,
A little drop of your chin just honoring this time that you gave yourself today to become grounded,
To open and balance and connect to your root chakra,
To cultivate a sense of being supported,
Being connected to your own body and to the earth.
Take a deep breath in through the nose,
Out through the mouth.
Thank you so much for taking the time today to really get into your body,
To connect to the earth,
To become grounded.
Have a beautiful,
Beautiful rest of your day.
Namaste.
