Rumi said, "Life is a balance of holding on and letting go." In this meditation, I invite you to connect with the energy of this month’s new moon in Libra, helping you discover this sense of balance. The moon’s phases remind us that life follows cycles of growth and release and the new moon symbolizes fresh beginnings, making it the perfect time to set new goals and intentions, aligning with the natural cycle of renewal. This new moon closely follows the Fall Equinox, which ushered in a new season, giving us an extra opportunity to go inward, listen deeply, and set intentions. I hope you enjoy this mediation and I wish you a happy Autumn.

Rumi said,

Life is a balance of holding on and letting go.

In this meditation we are going to connect to the energy of this month's new moon in Libra to find this sense of balance.

We'll lean into Libra's qualities of harmony and creativity to guide us.

The moon's phases remind us that life follows cycles of growth and release.

The new moon symbolises fresh beginnings,

Making it an ideal time to set new goals and intentions,

Aligning with the natural cycle of renewal.

Each month we have an opportunity to look within and really think about what our goals are for the following weeks.

This is the closest moon to the autumn equinox,

Which brought with it a new season,

And we now have a real chance to go inward and listen.

In autumn,

Nature begins a transition,

Reminding us to reflect on the changes and transformations we want to embrace in our own lives.

So let's begin.

Please find a really comfortable position,

Preferably seated with your back straight but you can lie down if that feels better for you today,

And gently close your eyes.

Imagine roots extending from your body into the earth beneath you.

As you visualise this,

Connect to the stability and support of the earth,

Which is grounding you firmly in the present.

Bring your attention to your breath now.

With each breath you take,

Imagine these roots extending from your body,

Growing stronger,

Anchoring you deeper,

And helping to provide a solid foundation for the intentions that you will set today.

Imagine yourself standing on a peaceful shoreline,

With soft waves flowing in and out.

Inhale deeply through your nose,

Feeling your breath rise like the gentle ebb of a wave filling your lungs.

Pause here for a moment.

Now exhale slowly through your mouth,

Allowing the breath to flow out,

Releasing tension like the tide receding from the shore.

Let's do that one more time.

Inhale deeply through your nose.

Pause for a moment.

And now exhale slowly through your mouth.

Let this natural ebb and flow of your breath bring you into a state of calm and balance.

As you align your breath with the rhythm of the waves,

You are connecting to the cycles of nature,

To the balance of these cycles,

To the balance of life.

Bring your attention now back to this shoreline.

Hear the gentle sound of the waves.

The air around you is cool and crisp,

Just like an autumnal morning.

The soft breeze is balanced.

It doesn't feel too strong,

Doesn't feel too gentle.

It feels just right.

It brings a sense of calm to your entire body.

Notice how your body feels.

Can you notice any areas of tension?

If you do feel any tension,

Breathe into the area of your body where you're feeling it.

Try and stabilise your body with your breath.

Now bring your attention to your heart.

If it feels right,

Place one or both hands gently over your chest as you connect to yourself.

Take a moment to breathe deeply and ask yourself,

What intention do I want to set for this new moon to invite more balance into my life?

What intention do I want to set for this new moon to invite more balance into my life?

Focus on one area where balance is most needed.

Perhaps you need more balance between work and rest.

More harmony between giving and receiving.

Maybe more attention to your mind over your body.

Allow your intention to naturally rise to the surface,

Trusting whatever comes to you in this moment.

Come back now to the soft waves on the shoreline.

In your hands,

You are holding your intention.

Imagine your intention as a glowing drop of water.

Carefully hold this drop and release it into the ocean.

Notice how the waves carry your intention out,

The ripples moving from the shore and merging with the vast ocean of possibility.

Feel the peaceful rhythm of the tide,

Knowing that just as the water ebbs and flows,

Your intention will move with the cycles of life,

Bringing balance and harmony this season.

Take one more deep breath,

Aligning yourself with this sense of flow.

On your next breath,

Gently ground yourself back into your space,

Returning to the present moment.

You may want to take some time now for your own ritual,

Perhaps writing about your experience,

The intention you've set with this new moon,

And the actions you'll take to support it.

As you begin to work more with the cycles of nature,

You'll notice how effortlessly your intentions can be nurtured.

Thank you very much for joining me for this meditation.

I hope that as the moon cycle continues,

It will support and guide the intention you set today.
