Settle into your space by making yourself really comfortable,
Letting your body sink into whatever supports you.
Gently close your eyes and allow your breath to slow down without trying too hard to control it.
Inhale softly and exhale slowly.
Notice the surface beneath you,
Steady and unmoving,
Giving you a place to ground.
Welcome to this guided meditation for the first full moon of 2026,
The wolf moon,
Rising in the sign of cancer.
The first full moon of the year sets an emotional tone,
A beginning shaped more by feeling than by action.
Cancer brings a nurturing protective feminine energy that encourages you to come home to yourself,
To soften and to listen to your intuition with total trust.
And as the wolf moon,
It carries the grounded symbolism of winter wolves,
Their calls echoing through the cold air,
Not out of fear,
But out of instinct,
Connection and endurance.
This moon reminds us of our own wisdom,
The quiet truths we know before we speak them.
In this practice,
I will guide you to open your heart,
Shed an emotional shell and reconnect with the steady intuition this moon gives us.
Take a deep breath in and exhale slowly to once again,
Really ground yourself here.
There is nowhere you need to be right now,
Nothing you need to do,
Just be here.
Imagine the full cancer moon above you,
Glowing with a soft,
Steady light.
Feel its glow and strong energy.
The energy from this moon will help you focus on yourself and turn your attention inward.
What you need to see will show up naturally.
There is no need to force anything here.
Bring your awareness to the center of your chest.
Just notice how that area feels today.
Without any judgment,
Just be aware of how you're feeling.
Now imagine a soft green light forming there,
At the center of your heart.
With each inhale,
It grows a little bit brighter,
And with each exhale,
It slowly expands.
This is your emotional wisdom,
Your compassion,
Your quiet inner knowing.
As you sit here,
Just notice the small ways you hold yourself.
Maybe you have a bit of tension in the shoulders,
Or in your chest,
Maybe in your stomach.
We all develop little protective habits over time,
Things that have helped us cope,
Things that separate us from fully letting go.
And after a while,
They can feel like a kind of shell,
Something that might have once kept you safe,
But has started to feel a bit too tight,
And maybe even out of our control.
If this resonates with you,
Try to connect to that shell now.
Just notice it,
Without any judgment.
As the green light grows,
Feel that old protective shell beginning to loosen.
It was useful once,
But under this moon,
It no longer fits who you are becoming,
And you don't need to carry it in the same way anymore.
Picture yourself standing at the edge of a quiet shoreline,
Under the bright wolf moon.
The water moves gently,
Reflecting a beautiful silver light.
On your back,
You feel the weight of that old shell,
And that might be fears,
Stories,
And emotions that have served their purpose,
And aren't really serving you in any positive way now.
In the calm moonlight,
The shell begins to lift away.
There is no force,
It slides off your back naturally,
Ready to be released.
As it drops to the sand,
Feel your body lighten,
Your heart feeling a little bit freer in your chest.
Breathe into the relief of not carrying it anymore.
The tide moves around your feet,
Cool and cleansing.
Let it wash through you,
Clearing what still feels heavy or stagnant.
Imagine this moonlit tide flowing through your home as well,
Refreshing the space,
Lifting old emotional residue,
Clearing room for new energy to move in.
See everything in your home becoming lighter,
Brighter,
And clearer.
Above you,
The wolf moon shines with unwavering presence.
Its message is instinct,
Honesty,
And emotional resilience.
It is a reminder that your inner voice is not fragile,
It is wise.
Let that truth settle into you,
The right to protect what matters,
The strength to release what no longer serves you,
And the instinct to move forward when your heart tells you to.
Return gently now to your heart space,
To that green light coming from the centre of your chest.
The light is calm and steady now,
It's no longer constrained but flowing out of you.
Notice the spaciousness in your chest,
The ease in your breath.
Quietly say to yourself,
I am releasing.
I am softening.
I am returning to myself.
Bring your awareness back into your body,
Your hands,
Your legs,
Your feet resting against the ground.
Take one final slow inhale,
Drawing in the steadiness of this moment,
And a long exhale.
When you're ready,
Very gently open your eyes.
As you come back,
I hope you are returning lighter,
Clearer,
And supported by the first full moon of the year.
If you feel like it's appropriate,
Take a moment to set a simple intention for the year ahead to stay connected to the lunar cycle.
To check in with yourself each month,
And to make space for a deeper,
Steadier relationship with your own rhythm.
Know that I'll be here,
Holding space for you throughout the year as each full moon arrives.
I wish you a gentle start to January,
And a grounded year ahead.
I'll see you next month.
Thank you very much for meditating with me today.
It has been an absolute pleasure to guide you.
