Welcome to this full moon in Libra meditation.
Find a comfy seated position,
Making sure your spine is straight but relaxed.
Rest your hands gently on your knees,
Close your eyes and take a deep breath in through your nose,
Filling your lungs completely.
Exhale slowly through your mouth,
Releasing any tension.
Continue breathing deeply as you settle into this moment.
Life feels very heavy right now.
Even with the arrival of spring and all the renewal it brings,
We're living in stressful and unjust times.
Use this full moon to release even a small part of the heaviness that you're carrying.
The lighter we feel collectively,
The stronger we become and the more ready we are to spread kindness.
The full moon in April is traditionally known as the pink moon and it is the first full moon of spring.
It's named after a pink flower native to North America that blooms at this time of year.
This moon also has played a role in determining the date of Easter,
Which falls on the first Sunday after the first full moon that occurs on or after the spring equinox.
This full moon is in Libra,
The sign of balance,
Harmony and relationships,
And it's asking us to reflect on our connections and seek balance in our lives.
A simple check-in which I think we can all benefit from at the moment.
Visualise yourself sitting in a quiet,
Dimly lit room,
The only illumination coming from the soft glow of the full pink moon shining through a window.
The air is cool and still and it's carrying a very faint scent of jasmine.
The room is comfy and safe,
It's a sanctuary from the outside world and its stressors.
You feel really relaxed in this room,
This is your space,
Completely undisturbed except for the moon's energy.
Feel that gentle pull of the moon from outside,
Its energy aligns with yours.
With each breath,
Feel this connection strengthening,
Grounding you while also uplifting your spirit.
Now bring to mind any conflicts or misunderstandings that may be weighing on you.
Try to make these as visual as possible while also connecting to how they make you feel.
Focus on one or two things that feel heavy that you'd like to release.
Imagine a piece of string in your hand.
Visualise the issues you have just identified as knots in the string.
With each exhale,
Imagine loosening a knot,
Releasing tension and stress.
Feel the relief as the weight diminishes,
Creating space for peace and resolution.
Bring your attention now to the relationships that shape your life,
Family,
Friends,
Colleagues or anyone who fills your life with love and care.
Connect to the harmony and balance within these relationships.
Are there relationships where you feel fully supported and nurtured?
Allow any thoughts or feelings to surface without any judgement,
Just observe them as they come and go.
Feel empowered by these positive relationships,
By the love,
Respect and care they give you.
Allow each relationship to come forward one by one.
Really visualise this relationship in front of you.
See their faces,
Hear their voices and feel the warmth they bring.
Let their love and kindness fill your heart and feel your heart expand as you send out that same warmth and love into the world.
Add these feelings into the space you have just created when you loosened the knots in the string.
As you sit in this tranquil,
Safe space,
Surrounded by the moon's gentle light,
Feel a deep sense of gratitude for the relationships that nourish you and for the ability you have to nurture others.
When you're ready,
Take a final deep breath,
Feeling refreshed and centred.
Very slowly open your eyes,
Bringing with you the peace and insights that you gained during this meditation.
Carry this sense of harmony with you,
Allowing it to influence your relationships and your inner world in the next few days.
Thank you very much for joining me today.
