Gratitude makes sense of our past,

Brings peace for today,

And creates a vision for tomorrow.

Melody Beattie Welcome to this five-minute evening gratitude meditation.

As you settle in for the night,

Find a comfortable position,

Either sitting or lying down,

And gently close your eyes.

Take a deep breath in through your nose,

Filling your lungs completely,

And then slowly exhale through your mouth,

Allowing your body to relax and your mind to become still,

Letting go of the day's events.

Now bring your awareness to the present moment.

Feel the ground beneath you,

Supporting you.

Notice the rhythm of your breath and the gentle rise and fall of your chest.

And allow yourself to fully arrive in this peaceful space.

Now it's time to think back on your day and bring to mind something or someone you are grateful for.

Picture this clearly in your mind and let a warm feeling of gratitude wash over you.

Feel it in your heart.

Let it expand and fill your entire being.

Now think of another moment or aspect of your day that you're grateful for.

It could be a small act of kindness,

A moment of joy,

Or simply the beauty of nature.

And as you bring this to mind,

Notice the sensations of gratitude in your body.

Allow yourself to fully experience this feeling.

Take a few more deep breaths,

Savoring the sense of gratitude you've cultivated.

Slowly bring your awareness back to the room.

Wiggle your fingers and toes and gently open your eyes when you feel ready.

Carry this sense of gratitude with you as you rest tonight and into the new day.

From my heart to yours with all my love and gratitude.

Namaste.

I like thinking of things in my day that I am grateful for. We take this for granted. Thank you.
