Hi,
My name is Bea,
And welcome to your morning intention-setting practice.
One of my favorite ways to begin the day is by setting an intention.
Setting an intention in the morning can help shape the way you move through your day.
It becomes a gentle anchor you can return to whenever life begins to feel busy or overwhelming.
Unlike a goal,
Which often focuses on achieving a future outcome,
An intention is about how you want to show up in the present moment.
Goals asked.
What do I want to accomplish?
Whereas intentions ask,
How do I want to be?
I like to think of intentions as seeds.
When you plant a seed,
You don't dig it up every day to see if it's growing.
You simply give it the right conditions,
Sunlight,
Water and time and trust that it will grow in the way it's meant to.
Your intention is much the same.
Rather than forcing it or trying to make it happen,
You simply plant it,
Nurture it with your awareness,
And allow it to unfold naturally throughout your day.
An intention can be something as simple as,
Today I will practice slowing down.
Or I choose to be present.
Whatever resonates with you is exactly enough.
If at any point during the day you notice yourself rushing,
Becoming distracted,
Or not being as mindful as you could be,
You can gently return to your intention as a way of coming home to yourself.
Now I invite you to find a comfortable seated position.
Relax your shoulders.
Soften your jaw.
And gently close your eyes if that feels comfortable.
Let's begin by taking three slow nourishing breaths together.
Take a long,
Slow breath in through your nose.
And gently exhale through your mouth.
Again,
Breathing in.
And breathing out.
One more time,
A slow,
Full inhale.
And a long,
Easy exhale.
Allow your breath to return to its natural rhythm.
Notice the gentle rise and fall of your breath.
Notice how your body feels this morning without trying to change anything.
Simply noticing.
Now take a moment to ask yourself.
How would I like to move through today?
What quality would I like to embody?
Take a moment to set your intention.
Maybe it's a phrase or even just one word like calm or present.
Whatever arises naturally is the perfect intention for today.
So try not to overthink it and simply trust the first thing that comes to mind.
Once you have your intention,
Imagine your intention taking shape in the palm of your hand.
See it transforming into a tiny seed.
Hold it gently with care.
Now bring your hand to rest over your heart.
Imagine planting that tiny seed within yourself.
Silently repeat your intention three times.
Imagine it gently settling,
Taking root within you.
Now take one final deep breath in.
And slowly breathe out.
Trust that the seed you've planted today already knows how to grow.
You don't need to force it.
Simply carry it with you.
Returning to it whenever you need a gentle reminder.
May this intention guide your thoughts,
Choices,
And actions and the way you move through your day.
Thank you for practicing with me today.
Wishing you a beautiful day ahead.
Namaste
