This practice gives you a simple pause to recognize someone who has supported you recently — a friend, coworker, neighbor, or anyone who has made life a little easier. Through steady breathing and focused reflection, Bea Walker helps you reconnect with that moment of care and consider the impact it had on you. You’ll leave with an intention to guide your day: Today, I’ll thank someone who quietly makes life easier.

Welcome to day 23 of Insight Timer's Intention Setting Challenge.

Setting an intention is making a decision about who you want to be and how you choose to show up.

Over time,

Those choices become change.

Let's begin.

Hello,

And welcome to Insight Timer's Intention Setting Challenge.

My name is Bea,

And today we're focusing on appreciation.

Taking a moment to recognize the people who quietly steady us.

In the rush of daily life,

It's easy to overlook the subtle ways we're cared for.

This can look like the person who listens without judgment,

The friend who checks in,

Or a stranger who shows unexpected kindness.

To help bring this energy into your day,

We'll focus on the intention.

Today I'll thank someone who quietly makes life easier.

First,

Let's take a few deep breaths,

Breathing in and out of the nose,

Slowing down the inhale and slowing down the exhale.

Allow your shoulders to settle,

Your jaw to soften,

And your belly to relax.

As your breath finds a natural rhythm,

Bring to mind someone you appreciate.

This could be a partner,

A friend,

A neighbor,

Or a coworker.

Someone who has recently extended some kindness towards you,

Has made your life easier,

Or has provided a feeling of grounding for you.

Let an image of them gently come into focus,

And start to cultivate a feeling of warmth and gratitude.

Feeling grateful and appreciative for the impact they've had on your life,

Big or small.

Now try to recall a recent moment when they made life easier or better for you in some way.

Maybe they listened without judgment,

Offered help before you asked,

Or maybe they were just there when you needed them the most.

Let that memory play slowly in your mind,

And as you revisit this moment,

Allow the feelings of appreciation and gratitude to rise.

Feel it like a gentle glow expanding from your heart,

Filling your entire being.

Let this appreciation become a quiet thank you,

A thank you that acknowledges their care and their support.

Take a deep breath in,

And as you exhale,

Imagine sending this love,

Appreciation,

And warmth to this person wherever they are.

Sending them these feelings of gratitude and appreciation for their part in your life.

Take a deep breath in,

And slow breath out.

As you move through the rest of your day,

Let these positive feelings and memories of this person fill you,

And if you feel called to,

Maybe share it with them.

Sometimes a simple thank you carries more healing than we realize.

Remember,

Move with the intention that today I'll thank someone who quietly makes life easier.

On the next few screens,

You'll be invited to set this intention on your insight timer home screen.

The simple act of seeing your intention reflected back throughout the day is enough to create change.

Good luck with the rest of the challenge.
