Welcome to this guided meditation that will help you tap into more trust while learning something new.
This guided meditation is for moments when you are learning something new and a part of you might feel resistance,
Or you might sense a feeling of self-doubt,
Of pressure,
Now take a moment to get comfortable lying or sitting down.
Gently closing your eyes.
Or simply soften your gaze,
Take a slow deep breath in through the nose.
And exhale through your mouth.
And again,
Breathing in through your nose.
Out through your mouth as if you're breathing out through a strut,
Which is calming for your body,
For your nervous system.
And you might notice that your shoulders are dropping even further.
And just notice that you're here.
And you might feel your jaw unclenching,
Your shoulders relaxing more.
And as you are relaxing your breathing you might begin to bring to mind a skill that you would like to learn or to improve.
Now notice what kind of thoughts.
Does thinking about this skill bring up for you?
And you don't need to push any thoughts away,
Because the part that might feel resistance is trying to help you in its own way.
And at the same time there may be another part of you quieter.
Less urgent.
That already knows something else.
And you might begin to wonder how many things you have already learned in your life.
Without even thinking about it,
It might come up.
That's right,
You learned how to walk.
Not all at once,
But step by step,
Falling,
Standing,
Trying again.
You learned how to speak,
To form words,
Sentences,
Meanings,
Long before you ever questioned how that even was possible.
And over time,
So many things became normal,
Second nature,
Automatic.
Like walking,
Talking,
Reading,
Writing,
Using your phone,
Your computer,
Moving through your day.
And it can be interesting to notice that once,
All of those things were completely new.
And somehow your system,
Your mind,
Your body,
You have learned in your own way,
At your own pace.
So many things that might have felt complicated once.
But are completely normal now.
And perhaps you can bring to mind a moment in your life where you learned something new,
Something that once felt challenging,
Unfamiliar.
And later became completely natural.
And as you remember that,
Notice how it felt in your body to overcome this challenge,
When you started to feel that things were starting to make sense,
When everything started to click for you.
That moment where it became easier,
More familiar,
More yours.
You might imagine that if this feeling of knowing that you're capable of learning anything.
If that feeling would have a color,
Which color would it be?
This feeling of calm confidence.
Now imagine this color moving through your body.
Filling up every cell of your body from your toes to the top of your head.
Filling up your body with calm confidence.
And I wonder how it could be for you,
If you would take that feeling of calm confidence with you.
When you are learning and practicing this new skill set.
Without needing to rush,
Without needing to get it all at once.
Just one step and then another.
And I wonder what it would be like for you to trust that your system is already learning.
Even in moments where it does not feel like it.
Because learning often happens quietly in the background.
Before it becomes visible.
And perhaps you don't need to know how yet,
You can just allow the process to unfold in its own way.
And now just simply begin to imagine yourself a little further ahead.
And just notice how you move.
How you think,
How you react,
How you respond to certain situations.
Now gently begin to bring back your awareness to the space around you.
Notice the temperature in the room.
The clothing that is touching your skin.
Wiggle your fingers and toes.
Become aware of three sounds that you can hear.
To things that you can feel one thing that you can smell.
And when you are ready,
You can open your eyes.
Taking which you have feeling of trust in your ability to learn,
To grow,
To figure things out,
In your own way,
At your own pace.
