This is to help us feel content with our efforts. So often we spend time wanting to be 100% motivated, with all the energy in the world to look after our families, keep our career progressing, to exercise daily and to push ourselves hard enough to feel satisfied with our efforts. All this is, is an idea of perfection. Of pushing ourselves to the extreme for an ideal, perfect us. We're going to pull that pressure back a little, and take some time to recognize every bit of effort we make.

Hello my friend.

Here we have a beautiful meditation to help us feel content with our efforts.

So often we spend time wanting to be 100% motivated with all the energy in the world to like after our families,

Keep our career progressing,

To exercise daily and to push ourselves hard enough to feel satisfied with our efforts.

All this is,

Is an idea of perfection.

Of pushing ourselves to the extreme for an ideal perfect us.

But we're going to pull that pressure back a little and take some time to recognise that every bit of effort we make is just enough.

So start off in any position you feel relaxed and comfortable.

And let's get to it.

Take three lovely big breaths.

Breathing in through your nose.

Sighing gently out through your mouth.

Begin to soften those shoulders.

Melt through your jaw.

Relax your belly and chest.

Feel your sit bones rooting into the floor or chair.

Keeping you alert and grounded.

Notice the space around your body.

And begin to turn inwards.

Start by visualising a neat little pot in front of you.

Something that would hold a plant or flower.

See that it is empty.

And it needs something inside of it.

You notice a bag of soil next to your pot.

So you begin to carefully fill it with the soil.

Nice and slowly,

The pot becomes full and ready for the next step.

You notice a little seed sitting next to you.

Waiting to be picked up and planted.

When you're ready,

Make a little hole for your seed and place your seed within your pot.

Gently cover it up and notice a pretty watering can.

Full with glistening water.

Just ready to water your seed.

The neat little pot is you and the time and space you give yourself.

The soil demonstrates your tools and resources.

Your seed illustrates your goal.

And the watering can demonstrates your efforts.

We're going to nurture this little seed into a beautiful flower with a little time and effort.

So see yourself showing up with your watering can day after day,

Nurturing your plant.

Sometimes you'll forget.

Or other things require your time and your seed just doesn't get watered.

But it is still growing.

Often you'll find your watering can doesn't have much water in it.

Or there's only a small amount.

But you're still showing up to water your seed.

Soon your little seed begins to break through the surface and feels the beautiful sun shining on it.

You continue to show up day after day,

Sometimes with a full watering can and some plant feed.

Slowly seeing a little seed growing with the help of the sunshine,

The soil,

The watering and your time.

You nurture it enough to see that your seed is now a beautiful flower continuing to grow and blossom.

Soon you find it's time for a new pot to allow your flower more space to grow.

Take a moment to appreciate your flower and notice its beauty.

No matter how big or small your effort is that day,

You are still moving forwards.

You may have no motivation one day.

You're still further ahead than yesterday.

You may be ready and wearing to go the next day.

Be able to move yourself forward a little quicker.

Regardless of the intensity of your efforts,

You are still moving forwards and allowing yourself the time and space to grow.

You and your flower are perfect the way you were growing.

Bring a little smile onto your face.

Gently straighten up your back.

Gently blink your eyes open and bring yourself back into the space that you're in.

Remembering that when you're feeling a little unmotivated or when you're doubting yourself and your efforts,

Come back to this beautiful plant in your pot knowing that each day you are still growing.
