Sometimes all we need is a gentle coaxing to help us relax our minds and soften our bodies.
And this five minute meditation will do just that.
So as you end your day,
Lie down in bed or sit in any comfortable position.
Just make sure your body feels nice and relaxed.
Take a big breath in and stretch your arms up and over your head.
And as you breathe out,
Let your arms and your shoulders melt down beside you.
Feel free to move during this meditation into whatever position feels the best for you.
So you can slip into a restful and relaxing sleep.
Start off by taking three gorgeous breaths.
Breathing deeply through your nose,
Filling your belly,
Your rib cage,
Your chest,
And sigh it all the way out your mouth.
With every breath out,
Allow any tension to release from your body.
As you feel the bed underneath you supporting your weight,
The pillow supporting your head,
Feeling your body relaxing into the space around you.
Begin to soften through your toes,
Allowing your feet to relax and your calves to melt.
Release any tension through the backs of your knees,
The tops of your knees,
Feeling your thighs melt into the bed.
Release any tension through your hips and feel your lower back supported.
Feel your hands tingle and relax through your fingers,
Your fingertips,
And your palms.
And enjoy that lovely rise and fall through your belly as you breathe in and out.
Feel your forearms soften,
Your elbows relax,
As your rib cage floats open as you breathe in and relaxes as you breathe out.
Feeling the space through your chest as your shoulders release into the bed.
Feel your collarbone relax as your upper back melts.
Release through your jaw as you soften through your cheeks,
Your eyelids,
And your forehead.
Anytime your mind wanders,
Bring yourself back to how gorgeous it feels to rest in your bed,
Surrounded by your beautiful cover.
Taking lovely long breaths all the way in,
All the way out,
Extending your exhale a little bit longer as you relax into a peaceful night's sleep.
Thank you.
I hope you have beautiful rest tonight.
