When we're wanting to achieve something in our lives,
It can sometimes feel tricky to get past the thoughts and feelings that tell us we just can't do it.
Sometimes though,
All it takes is a bit of visualisation to see the good coming our way.
And that's what we're going to explore with this short meditation.
So start by sitting or lying in any position that feels good to you.
Take three lovely big breaths if you want to.
Breathing deeply into your belly.
Sighing it out as you breathe out if you like.
Begin to relax through your face,
Your shoulders,
Your belly.
Bring your awareness to the sounds around you,
To the temperature on your skin,
To how your body and your mind is feeling right now.
We're going to start by creating a movie in our mind.
See yourself sitting in a big,
Cosy,
Comfy cinema,
Just you.
And notice on the screen yourself.
See yourself achieving what you want.
Whether it's a successful day,
An easy social gathering,
A powerful workout.
Reaching the goal of your dreams.
Whatever it is,
See it in front of you.
Make the picture beautiful,
Bold,
Sparkly and bright.
As if you were watching it just as a movie on the screen.
Once you can see it clearly in front of you,
Once you can hear the sounds,
See the picture,
Put yourself in that movie.
See yourself surrounded by it,
Just as if you were playing a memory.
Notice what you can see.
Notice what you can hear or what you can feel.
Try and feel those emotions.
Let them completely take over the excitement,
The joy,
The pride as you see yourself achieving what you want.
Just as if it was happening right now.
Submerse yourself into your movie.
Really enjoy the feeling.
Now take another beautiful big inhale.
On your exhale repeat in your mind or out loud,
Thank you for what is coming my way.
Take another big beautiful breath in and repeat,
I am powerful.
Breathe out and repeat,
I am strong.
Take a big breath all the way in.
And on your exhale repeat,
Thank you for what is coming my way.
Breathing in to repeat,
I am powerful.
I am strong.
Take a few more breaths as you sit up tall,
Draw those shoulders away from your ears,
Bring a little smile onto your face.
Remembering that you can bring yourself back to this beautiful movie whenever you want.
You can create this movie in your mind for any situation,
Any goal that you want to achieve.
When you're ready you can gently blink your eyes open.
Notice the space around you.
Once more say thank you for what is coming your way.
