Hello beautiful souls,
It's Heather.
Happy new moon.
In yin yoga we do not push,
We don't force,
We just allow,
Release and surrender.
We'll be holding each pose for around two minutes or so and all you need to do is.
.
.
Be here,
That is it,
No props required.
Trust yourself,
Enjoy this practice,
And let's begin.
We are going to begin in the seed pose,
Which is a great place to begin for grounding.
So bring your legs together and all you need to do is bring your arms beside you.
Forehead to the earth.
Allow yourself to sink into the surface beneath you.
Take a deep breath in through your nose.
And exhale through the nose In Yin Yoga,
We breathe in and out through the nose slowly and mindfully.
Your affirmation in seat pose is I welcome in a fresh start.
New moons give us the opportunity to start again.
To clean the slate And we can truly leave the past behind us.
All those old beliefs and identities.
So repeat after me internally.
I welcome in a fresh start.
I welcome in a fresh star.
And slowly roll up inch by inch out of seed pose As we transition to our next.
Which will be Sleeping Swum.
Bring your right leg to the top of the mat and your left leg is straight behind you.
If you do have a cushion or a pillow,
It can be great to place it underneath the leg.
My hips don't touch the mat and it's quite comfortable for me in this position.
So you do what feels good to you.
You have an option to stay on your fingertips if that feels good for you.
If you can hold that for a few minutes or you can fold down.
Again,
It's great to have a cushion or a pillow here.
As you bring your forehead back down to the mat And for the first 10 or 20 seconds in a yin pose,
You are more than welcome to shift around,
Find the most comfortable posture for you.
But we really are resolving to be still.
We're not moving in a yin pose,
Even if it can be slightly uncomfortable,
As long as there's no pain.
Please listen to your body.
And your affirmation here in Sleeping Swan is.
.
.
It is safe for me to try new things.
It is safe for me to try new things.
So perhaps you have been keeping safe in your comfort zone recently,
As have I as well.
And when we want something,
We want to chase our dreams,
It's very easy to.
.
.
Not do the thing that scares us,
To not try new things because it feels scary.
So this is why this affirmation is really powerful.
It is safe for me to try new things.
It is safe for me to try new things.
You And release the affirmation.
And slowly come out of sleeping swan.
You might want to stretch your right leg back.
My mind's feeling a little bit numb as we switch to the second side.
Bringing your left leg to the top of the mat now.
Right leg straight behind you.
Again,
Option to use a cushion or a pillow underneath your hip.
You can stay upright or you can fold down to the mat.
And as you allow yourself to find your own expression of this pose,
Not trying to imitate me or try to.
.
.
Push yourself.
Whatever you are is perfect.
And our affirmation.
.
.
Which is related to that is I am on the right path.
I am on the right path.
Often we get shiny object syndrome and.
.
.
We have our dreams and desires,
But other people or society can influence us to make us think we're doing the wrong thing.
As long as you're following your jaw,
You're following your heart,
You are on the right path.
That is our affirmation here.
I am on the right path.
I am on the right path.
And release the affirmations as you slowly roll up.
You might want to stretch that left leg behind you.
It's really beautiful every time I come up the sun's a little bit more brighter.
I'll move into sphinx pose from here.
So bring your belly down to the mat.
Come onto your forearms.
Push your shoulders back.
This is a really great heart activating pose.
Just get yourself settled into Sphinx pose.
And the affirmation here is,
I follow my joy and I allow myself to have fun.
Which is quite a long one.
I follow my joy and I allow myself to have fun.
Because sometimes we think we have to do things.
We forget that life is about enjoyment.
I'm following our heart's desires.
So repeat the affirmation in your mind.
I follow my joy and I allow myself to have fun I follow my joy and I allow myself to have fun Release the affirmation.
Come down off your forearms.
And we will move into Shavasana.
That final resting pose.
So take up space on the mat.
Legs can be as wide as feels comfortable.
Palms reaching up to the sky,
Facing the sky.
Allow yourself to settle here.
And if you'd like a final affirmation here.
I am ready now.
Often we have so many reasons why we can't have what we want or we have all these prerequisites of why we need to do this before we do that.
But the truth is you are perfect now.
You're ready now.
You've got everything inside of you.
You are good enough.
Don't ever forget that.
So if you'd like to use that affirmation to close off this new moon yin yoga,
I am ready now.
I am ready now.
And begin to deepen your breath.
Releasing the affirmation.
Trusting in the unfolding of your beautiful life.
Begin to move your fingers and toes and take a deep,
Big stretch.
Move on to one side of the mat.
Just take a moment to thank yourself for showing up today.
To do something amazing for yourself.
Push up to take a seat on the map And we'll just close with a breath in and an exhale out your mouth,
Letting go what no longer serves you so you're ready for something new.
Deep breath in through your nose.
And a sigh or exhale of your mouth.
Happy new moon.
