Welcome,
Let's begin this practice by finding a position that feels grounded and supportive.
Seated or lying down,
Choose what will help you feel safe and steady.
Allow your shoulders to soften and your body to rest.
You may gently close your eyes or let your gaze rest downward.
Take a few deep,
Steady breaths.
Inhale fully and exhale slowly.
Again,
Inhale and release.
Now let the breath find its natural rhythm.
Let your attention settle softly into the body.
Feel your connection to the earth beneath you.
Bring into awareness the presence of grief.
Grief can take many forms,
Sadness,
Longing,
Heaviness,
Or even numbness.
You don't need to name it precisely.
Just allow yourself to gently notice what's here.
Rather than bracing against it,
Invite a little more space around the feeling.
Let it be like a guest in your home,
Not needing to be fixed or hurried out the door.
You might silently say,
This is grief,
This belongs.
Notice how the body holds grief.
Is there a sense of pressure,
Heat,
Hollowness,
Or constriction?
Let yourself breathe into that place with care.
Grief is not a problem to solve.
It's a response to love,
To change,
To loss.
Can you allow yourself to feel without needing to explain or understand?
If it helps,
Place a hand over your heart or another part of the body that feels vulnerable.
Let your touch be a gesture of compassion,
A way of saying,
I'm here with you.
Breathe gently.
Allow the waves of feeling to move through you.
No need to hold them back or force them forward.
Just noticing,
Breathing,
Being.
You might repeat softly,
It's okay to feel this.
I can make space for what's real.
And now,
Let go of the phrases.
Let the body breathe naturally.
Let grief rest for now.
And let yourself be held by this moment.
Slowly bring awareness back to the sensations of your body.
Feel your feet or hands,
The breath,
The air on your skin.
Take a full nourishing breath and slowly exhale.
When you're ready,
Gently open your eyes.
Move into the next part of your day with tenderness.
Thank you so much for your practice today.
