Relaxing our mind helps us to relax the body.
Every smile softens the muscles of the face and helps calm the nervous system.
Letting it go for a short while,
You will experience trust,
More physical energy,
And mental clarity.
Relaxing is also an exercise in self-compassion.
Being in touch with the joys of childhood can help us in challenging times.
Lie down and make yourself comfortable.
Allow your body to relax.
Pay attention to the body's contact with the floor.
Allow your body to sink into the floor.
Become aware of your body breathing by itself.
Notice your tummy rising and sinking by itself.
It rises effortlessly when you inhale and sinks when you exhale.
Rises,
Rises.
There is only the timeless now.
The present moment is the only thing that has no end.
The future rises only in the here.
As you inhale,
Focus your attention on your eyes.
As you exhale,
Let your eyes relax.
Let all the fine muscles around the eyes soften.
Allow the eyes to sink into the head and rest deeply.
Send love and gratitude to your eyes.
Inhaling,
Focus your attention on your mouth.
Exhaling,
Allow your mouth to relax.
Let go of the tension around the mouth.
Notice how smiling softens the muscles in your face.
Your forehead is smooth,
The cheeks soft,
Your jaw and neck relaxed.
Inhaling,
Bring your attention to both shoulders.
Exhaling,
Allow both shoulders to become heavy.
Let them relax and sink into the ground.
Allow the tension to flow down into Mother Earth.
We carry so much on our shoulders.
Now they can let go of their burdens completely.
Inhaling,
Be aware of both shoulders.
Exhaling,
Relax both your shoulders.
Inhaling,
Feel both arms.
Exhaling,
Relax both arms.
Feel their weight.
Both arms sink into the floor.
Both upper arms,
Both elbows,
Both forearms,
Both wrists,
Both hands,
All your fingers.
Feel how even the tiny muscles in your arms and hands are relaxing.
Inhaling,
Direct your attention to your heart.
Exhaling,
Allow the heart to relax.
Our heart beats for us day and night.
Tenderly embrace your heart.
Feel connected to your heart and feel the love.
Focus your attention on both legs.
Let go of all tension in both hips,
Both thighs,
Both knees,
Both calves,
Both ankles,
Both feet.
Feel the sensations in all your toes.
Send love and care to your toes.
Let all the tension flow down into the earth beneath you.
Feel your whole body.
Your whole body.
Your whole body feels light,
Like a cloud,
Floating transparently in the sky.
There's nothing to do,
Just be.
Try focusing your attention on consciousness itself.
It's a huge space that welcomes everything.
It accepts feelings of peace and clarity,
As well as feelings of anger or hurt.
Become part of this vast space.
Without a past or a future,
This is a place of silence,
Love and trust.
Nothing is rejected.
Nothing held onto.
Everything is welcome as it is.
Let a beautiful landscape appear before your inner eye.
Take your time to arrive in it.
Look around.
Wander about.
Feel comfortable and relaxed.
In front of you is a clearing.
You walk towards this peaceful place.
You discover a child.
Perhaps it is playing.
Notice if it knows you and if it comes towards you.
Look at the child lovingly and without expectation.
Walk up to it.
If it talks to you,
Ask it what it needs.
If it says nothing,
Just sit near it and wait.
Become aware that this is your inner child.
Go to the child in your thoughts.
Notice that it has its own point of view.
Imagine how it is experiencing the situation it always dreamed of.
What is your inner child longing for?
What are you feeling?
Hug the child if you want to and if he or she allows it.
Say,
I am here now.
I see and hear you.
Listen to what it says.
Tell the child that you know a place where its deepest desires are fulfilled.
Where it will feel safe and free.
Feel the adult in you and your appreciation growing stronger.
You start walking along a path with the child.
Perhaps you're carrying it or it's holding your hand.
Maybe it's skipping happily in front of you.
Nature is getting more beautiful by the moment.
You're in this secret part of your inner landscape.
You arrive at a gateway,
Pass through it,
And you enter into the most beautiful garden you have ever seen.
This is a place of love,
Healing,
Fantasy,
And safety.
The inner child is thrilled to find everything it has ever wanted.
The garden is in your heart.
The inner child now radiates its love and happiness into your life.
Notice how warm and free your heart feels.
Allow the feeling to spread from your heart throughout the body.
Even the most vulnerable parts of you feel safe.
Love is a field with neither shape nor color that welcomes everything unconditionally.
Love and awareness are always here.
They are the background of our thoughts,
Feelings,
And experiences.
Feel your heart opening wider,
Trust,
And allow the love to fill every cell in your body.
Your essence is love.
Resolve to always keep your heart open and to share this love with others.
Now focus your attention on your body.
Feel peaceful,
Content.
Notice how relaxed your body is and how gently your breath is flowing.
When you're ready,
Start moving your hands and feet.
Without any hurry,
Start stretching your body and in time return to a sitting position.
